Hello!
A Grimdark update chock-full of heresy has arrived!
As usual, the majority of the Grimdark WIPs are not on Patreon anymore. But community members can still access the latest WIPs as mentioned in previous posts. Just to be thorough, community members will receive an email with the access information as well.
Please leave any comments/feedback/reactions on this post like you would normally do. Thanks!
For this update, I wanted to show some of the major highlights in Lorgar's career. In addition to the standard melee and shooting poses, the Primarch of the Word Bearers also gets a unique proselytizing pose. This was Lorgar's primary function before and after the Great Crusade as he spent way more time preaching than fighting. Whether he was spreading the Word of the Emperor or the Ruinous Powers, Lorgar was a very charismatic speaker so I think it's appropriate to show that.
Also, It is Word Bearers month so I figured I do something the Smurf haters will enjoy.
For context, one of the major story arcs for Lorgar was his Shadow Crusade against the Smurfs. The Shadow Crusade was part ritual/part therapy session to create enough death and destruction in order to sustain the Ruinstorm.
The end result was tons of death, a successful ritual and massive delay of the Ultramarines to reinforce the loyalists. Also Lorgar managed to elevate Angron to Daemon Prince although whether this was a good thing is largely dependent on how much you hate the Imperium.
Lorgar also got a chance to slaughter a lot of the Ultramarines and ruin a chunk of their worlds which I'm sure was very satisfying for him. Yeah, Lorgar and the Word Bearers really hated the Smurfs even before the Heresy. Probably because it's well known fact that for every Smurf that falls, ten more will take their place.
Jokes aside, I did promise to be nice to Lorgar so here we go. There's this depiction of Lorgar that I've always liked which shows him as a scholar and not as a warrior.
I think is the 17th son's most natural state and the one which he's most content in as Lorgar's always stated he never wanted to be a warlord. And like I mentioned earlier this month, he is the author of the most influential piece of literature of the setting. So credit where credit is due, it's only fitting to capture the Urizen creating his Magnum Opus. No, it's not the Book of Lorgar as much as he'd like to market that now, that never went platinum like the Lectitio Divinatus did.
On the Knight side of things, I have created the complete weapon set as far as I can tell so community members should be able to field any combination that they want. And yes, I'll include the Smurf helmet option. Opponents may hate you for it but blue cheese is an acquired taste after all. đ
Fantasy voting is currently underway so feel free to check it out! Final WIPs and bonus reward will be shown when the final votes are in. If you're a Word Bearer fan I think you'll like the bonus reward. đ
