How It Should Have Ended (And Final March Vote Results)

A final WIP for this month to show the true glory of the Mannis! 💪

As usual, the majority of the Grimdark WIPs are not on Patreon anymore.  But community members can still access the latest WIPs as mentioned in previous posts.  Just to be thorough, community members will receive an email with the access information as well.

So for this mental exercise, let's pretend that a rabid Iron Hands fan somehow got onto the BL writing staff and retconned the Fulgrim HH novel to into The Mannis HH novel. Changing it from a tragic tale of a Primarch who fell to Chaos due to his insecurities and staggeringly poor life choices into an inspiring tale of a brother miserably betrayed who then went on a warpath of revenge. Finally culminating into an epic battle on Isstvan V where the 10th Legion Primarch finally puts his rabid dog of a brother down. Or in this case, launching him into the stratosphere. 😄 And in this version, Ferrus uses Forgebreaker (the hammer Fulgrim made for Ferrus) to do the deed for that delicious bit of grimdark irony.

And really, the timeline doesn't really change. Ferrus still dies because nothing survives tens of thousands of Space Marines firing bolters at you (unless you're Vulkan). And Fulgrim can still be brought back by Bile magic. Because nobody ever dies as long as they can make money. And Horus can still wax poetic with Ferrus skull if he really wants to. But a little plot armor can go a long way to rehabilitate someone's image and in this ending maybe the memes will favor the 10th Legion Primarch for once. 😉

Some final WIPs for Dante as well. For the Lord Commander, I made sure to give him tons of pose options as befits his legendary status. I'm not going to show ever single permutation but you can deck him out with all the wargear you'd expect as well as some custom versions I came up with like a maskless version. He comes with 7(!) different helmet versions. Since I made so many variations this month, there's going to be an archive called HeadsHelmets for all the different combinations for Ferrus and Dante.

Finally the bonus reward this month will be a special version of the Norn-Queen as she literally spawns the a new wave of generals and meatshields into existence. Because in the Tyranids case at least, there is no problem they can't solve by throwing waves and waves of bodies against it. 😱

So onto the poll results. Archaon took the top spot with a very convincing lead. Wait, didn't he bring the End Times which literally destroyed Warhammer Fantasy? Wouldn't that make him less popular? 🤔 Ah, what do I know, I'm a filthy casual. 😅

Doomguy in the Dark Ages and Shadowheart are distant runner ups so I'll include them next month. I'm still not too sure what I want to do for the original/casual item. I had an idea for a character but based on the vote results, I may do something with one of the winning characters. I'll think about it some more. I'm also going to queue Dragonslayer Ornstein for a future Fantasy month. Like the Kharn/Argel Tal suggestion, he's been in the polls forever with favorable results but never the winner. Think he should be done now.

I'll show the complete listing of stuff in next month's public post. April will be Ferrus' month to shine so Grimdark fans, please let Iron Hands players know their Primarch is actually getting good press next month. 😄
