Don't Bother Repenting. We're Not Taking Prisoners Today (Grimdark WIP)

A glorious Grimdark month kicks off and let's start with some badass characters for the 1st Legion!

As usual, the majority of the Grimdark WIPs are not on Patreon anymore.  But community members can still access the latest WIPs as mentioned in previous posts.  Just to be thorough, community members will receive an email with the access information as well.

So the Bulwark from Space Marine 2 is roughly equivalent to a Smurf 1st Company Honour Guard or a Company Champion for any Chapter. What they all have in common is a glorious shield with intricate heraldry to show how awesome they are. 🔥

You know who else gets sweet shields? Deathwing Knight Terminators! Deathwing are veteran Dark Angels from their 1st Company and Deathwing Knights are the melee specialists of that group. They're actually quite unique compared to other Chapter Terminators as the Dark Angels hierarchy is structured around paranoia.

Since that fun little incident involving a cooking stove, Dark Angels have been keeping (even more) secrets from their own members. Basically 3rd-10th Company have little to no idea of the Fallen while the 1st and 2nd Company are the only ones with a bigger picture. You can only get into the 1st Company once you've been thoroughly vetted by the Chaplains and are now tasked with hauling as many Fallen and witnesses into the Rock's dungeons.

With that fun lore snippet out of the way, let's see how these veterans turn out. Both the Bulwark/Champion and Deathwing Terminator proxies will get some intricately designed armor. Because say what you will about the Dark Angels being a bunch of shady backstabbers, it's hard to deny they have impeccable drip. As promised, I'm making a bunch of cool shields that you can swap in and out. And yes, I'll include Storm Bolter proxies so community members can run standard Deathwing as well. I might even try a Smurf and Blood Angel design later but no promises for now.

For wargear, there will be a bunch of goodies unique to the Dark Angels. Swords, you can't change too much except the cross hilt but I'll try to make them look cool. Deathwing Knights will get the Mace of Revelations. I call it that because all the Fallen's secrets will spill out when the Knight caves in their skull. Appropriate, right? 😄 I also made a proxy for the Fusil Actinaeus.

So last month I mentioned this is a good opportunity to start Lion 2.0 and the Company Champion is probably going to be the template as he already has Primarch level drip. I'll probably add a Calibanite Lion pelt at least. Fun fact, the Lion is only one of two characters to bag a Calibanite Lion. The other guy...we don't talk about the other guy.

To that end, I'm also going to do a fun little poll that I'll call 'Who would you cast?'. Right now community suggestions include Charlie Hunnam, Michael Fassbender and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Have another serious contender you'd like to suggest? Please let me know!
