Exactly. It's something a lot of people don't get that you can love a character as a villain while hating them as a person.

When I heard "the Assembly" I flipped. There have been subtle nods the things in other campaigns, but this one got me hyped for the next shows.

One thing I love about this episode is that it's literally the creators saying 'things aren't going to follow the source material!' Vox Machina always had a general plot being followed, but this episode loudly stated that there would be changes that would throw off log time fans.

Ripley’s also super clever because remember they’re the only ones inventing guns rn. Percy didn’t even know a gun could FIT in her sleeve let alone be wary of it. AND it’s another example of how equal and opposite the two are. Percy has a shock hand that will stun someone in times of need. Ripley has a small gun that will Kill someone in times of need. That’s basically what they boils down to.

#SubdayRundown I’d like to bring up a cool little thing about the campaign. Percy was always going to die… He just chose the best way. Think of this: Back when Percy was going insane, he had the chance to kill Ripley at the base of the Ziggurat, but he didn’t. And that’s why Percy is still alive to get here! Percy only got 2 people in his list. 2!! Less than half and we saw how almost unsalvageable he was in the season 1 finale. If he was any more taken by the demon, a.k.a killing Ripley, he probably would have shot his sister in their fight. Then even if he did make it out of the final episode… he might just have ended it. And If he HAD gone full crazy and killed all the list, we know from a scene where Scanlan asks what the 6th barrel is for that his shadow was pointing it at his head. Still dead!!!! The ONLY way Percy would have gotten here was if he embraced the idea that he shouldn’t be the one making life and death choices for those he hates… But… of course he was under the assumption that Anna was like him and secretly hated what Orthax felt like. But Anna wasn’t fighting a group of people she could physically get her hands on. She was angry at the concept of inequality through power.

Right up until the demon eating everyone who gets shot and killed I was a little in board

#SundayRundown Ive said it before but, if you live in a small town in D&D… YOU ARE SO FUCKED!!!! EVERY TIME

#SundayRundown This episode was done way way WAY differently in the show. But I for one enjoy this way much more because it had even me, a person who KNEW what was gonna happen go, “oh wait yo are they gonna keep it?!” ☠️ Some people don’t like it but honestly I’m one of those people where, if someone died in the OG show, I secretly hope the resurrection spells fail because it felt more impactful to me. If they HAD done the original way it would’ve been like “ohhhh no percyyyyy… I hate this Ripley lady… ok cool he’s good” 😂 There was also a whole other character in the fight the party partially knew that wasn’t in the show at all… and he was tied to Vax! He was like a fanboy that went all Syndrome from the incredibles and was used by Ripley. Personally I think this slaps! It kept what happened but intertwined it REALLY well with…. What’s to come 😈 PLUS!!! I just love reacting to people going “HUH?!… no…. NO!!!! AINT NO WAY!!!” And then is slowly sets in 😈

Some people found these next few episodes to be controversial, but I enjoyed this stretch of episodes. It culminates to my favorite episode of all 3 seasons.

Robert Bonfante

Ripley is a great villain. She is easy to hate, but she is in many ways the most relatable. The main villains of seasons 2 and 3 are dragons. The main villains of season 1 -- a vampire and a necromancer. She's a villain who got by on wit, skill and determination. Nothing supernatural (except for that cloak, of course). I hate her and I dig her all the same.

Robert Bonfante

I remember the episode of this one in the campaign. It was a heavy and long. I like how they portrayed it in this episode.

Curtis Rice

I actually don’t remember what it is 🤣

Step B.

I appreciate seeing Ripley's backstory, in the original campaign she was just a generic bad guy that kept coming around, and while we would find out details later from Matt and Talesin, showing it via flashbacks while in the moment is one of the advantages of adaptations I like, how they can be used to improve the source material here and there in hindsight of the original story. Also a huge reveal was included in her story that you guys won't understand until like actual years later when they adapt more, which is crazy to me lol

Jackie Gibson

Ripley and Percy are the same character. Just that one was founded by friends when he was still young and maliable. Ana never found anyone to help her. I love the depiction of her character and one of the few bright spot of season 3. Also Ana was changing the world by making everyone be able to defend themselves, giving them the right to bare arms so that what happened to her never happened to another little girl. What wrong with that.

Remember DnD don't care if you're a main character
