OP Episode 977-979 Reaction & Review

In regards to catching up to the anime, I'm the weirdo who waits each week for a new episode and watch it as soon as it comes out, as opposed to waiting a few weeks and binging a group of them. When I'm catching up to something ongoing, I always look forward to the end when I can consume the newest entry at the same time as everyone else.

I recommend going to some other anime for now if you don't want to catch up. You are getting closer to the current episodes and Toei anime like One Piece are going on hiatus because they were hacked and their files messed up until further notice.

Whenever Kanjuro drew before it was with his left hand. But Kanjuro is a righty so what he drew was trash and in this episode was crazy because he switched to his and that he can actually write and draw with.

Also in episode 978, the image with Big mom raiding dragon kaidou was actually a meme edited picture on the internet spread and created by the online one piece fan community for over a year, so it’s likely the animators saw it and decided to put it in an actual episode lol.

If you didn’t realise SP, Kanjuro is a Koruzumi, which is the same family as orochi is from, which is why he was willing to spy for him, Kanjuro’s parents were killed for the same reason orochi was hunted and why his parents were killed.

So the interesting thing with Kanjuro being the spy is as people have said if you look back on all the very small details of the events leading up to Wano all the pieces leading to Kanjuro are there like for example one that especially stuck out is when it was advertised across Wano of the straw hats and their allies wanted posters Kanjuro's was nonexistent

When the Samurai get sent through time by Toki, you can see when they arrive some birds in the background. They were Kanjuro's creations carrying information to Orochi. There was even a scene or two where a bird flew right up to the screen lol, but barely anyone really noticed what it meant at the time

There was actually an incredibly good breadcrumb trail left for us to figure out it was Kanjuro. Here's the first YT theory video that figured it out, and this was before it was made obvious to us that there was a traitor at all. Currently one piece anime is on a indefinite hiatus due to someone hacking into Toei's shit so you may catch up quicker then expected since this is the first major break the anime has taken since Covid first shut everything down. Also they are all guys lol kiku technically born a dude too,but identified as female so kiku got that trap card 📸

btw SP idk if you noticed but in the previous episodes when Orochi explained the spy's backstory they showed Orochi giving the spy a Devil Fruit. And since Kin and Kanjuro are the only ones in the Nine Red Scabbards who have Devil Fruit powers that narrows it down to the 2 of them. Kin has shown how loyal he is since the beginning but Kanjuro came along the way long after. The reason he was able to easily fake being a bad artist with his Devil Fruit is because until now he would always paint with his left hand even though he was right handed. Now that he revealed himself he is using his right hand to draw properly. Also side note even tho Orochi said the spy was a man that couldve included Kiku too since she is still physically male. She identifies as a woman but she is still considered one of the men of the Nine Red Scabbards

In Dressrosa, Kanjuro was still captured by Doflamingo & co.. While getting captured wasn't planned on his part, it was part of his act of playing along, even risking getting killed by the birdcage.
