It's too late for Pussy, he's already a rat. Even if he changes his mind and takes the 30, the FBI can just expose him and he dies anyway. Also most mobsters would chose death over doing 30 years in prison. He has 2 options at this point. 1) give the FBI what they want 2) Die That's it.

It's really fitting that Chris has a fling with a Jewish studio VP, someone who's the opposite of Adriana and most of the Catholic women he's spent his life around She has a career, an education, dresses professionally, and she's not connected to the mob. When Chris sits down for dinner with Tony and Carmela and Adriana the minute marriage is brought up he storms off. He sees Adriana as a tether to his miserable purposeless life under Tony Instead of going to AJ's confirmation (a Catholic service for the son Tony actually cares about), Chris confronts Amy for using him. When he says "I really liked you," it kind of flips the script from that scene with Adriana last season when he was the one shutting her dreams down, saying he wouldn’t pay to produce her band In the final shot before Chris goes to sit on the porch, he watches Tony go take family photos with his real kids *we need some follow up on the Master P story

The episode is actually a payoff for the scene in the pilot episode where Chris and Tony had a small argument where he even brought up his cousin’s fiancée. It also develops on the subtext from the acting class episode showing how much the mob is a barrier to any form of hollywood ambition and how his anger at his father can just as easily be towards Tony, which again, loops back to the pilot episode where he says he could have gone that down that route but stuck it out with Tony.

The other actress in the scene with Janeane Garofalo was Sandra Bernhard, who was pretty iconic in the late 80's into the 90's. You would've most recently seen her in Season 2 of Severance, as one of the doctors at Lumon working on getting Gemma ready for Cold Harbor.

In my opinion, this is the most boring episode of The Sopranos in all six seasons. But at least The Normies kept it interesting for me.

This episode marks the start of AJ’s character arc, especially after Livia tells him that he’s not special and has no purpose. Pay attention to how he and his family interact with each other after this episode. Christopher, still torn between his love for movies and his life in the mob, makes many self-sabotaging decisions. His choice to side with Tony at the end of the episode signifies his decision to give up on his dream rather than fully choosing the mob, and just a little fyi when Christopher said, “ Fucking walnuts don’t lie as good as you” he’s referring to Paulie because his name is Paulie ‘Walnuts’ Gualtieri , so remember that Christopher thinks Paulie is a chronic liar
