In regards Tony taking his money from David Scatino first over Richie, don’t forget Richie *really* pissed him and other guys off by paralyzing Beansie. Richie needs to dig deep for some good will unless he wants this to continue.

The editor is just trying to give time to sync, but he will keep an eye for this in the future.

What are you guys doing with these uncuts? Previously, you would skip the intro and start on a random frame from the first scene after the intro, and now we have to sync with a random frame from the intro that flashes on the screen for a split second. Is the person editing these trolling us on purpose?

You're starting to notice Tony and the gang’s most selfish tendencies, their cheapness and greed. It’s an aspect that will be more exemplified in the later seasons. With gamblers, the mob wouldn’t kill them because they want their money, so a gambler is going to pay the mob back one way or another

Good points, but no Spanish.

lol gotta hand it to Matt for not ratting out tony when getting chewed out by Syl.

Good discussion and there’s also some additional layers worth pointing out. Carmela said “that’s a lucky break”, Meadow did get what she wanted in a solo performance. Tony’s actions both harmed her relationship and inadvertently helped get what she wanted. The therapy scenes were more oblique but seemed to be pointing out that Tony can’t really bridge the gap between why he’s miserable and his line of work, as well as his parents actively contributing to his misery which he mentally avoids. It doesn’t give us a hard answer either way. His mentally challenged uncle is another reminder for him that he doesn’t really have an easy excuse. Him being lost at thought at the end of the episode could be a nod to this, among other things.

The thing with Dave Scatino is that nobody is innocent in that. Yeah Dave is a degenerate gambler and he willingly joined that game. But Tony didn't have to let him in that game at all. He's the boss and nobody forced him. He knew his high school friend was likely going to end up in debt but he allowed him to do it anyway. This highlights how scummy and predatory the mob really is. This was especially obvious when Junior mentioned how he and Johnny got the idea from seeing how credit card companies bleed people dry. The more I see of Tony the more I see why Charmaine is right not wanting Artie involved.

Sinatra did big band music and some jazz. That's what I think of as Italian music. Also opera.

@19:14 Tony wasn't smiling because of The Executive Game, he was smiling because he was setting up Matt to get chewed out by Silvio sweeping up the cheese by his feet. Tony did it for no other reason than his own amusement 😂
