I wasn't gonna comment until Serge said " Mike wasn't made"...Yall be missing too much dialougue. Mike was CONSIGLIERE! This came up when Tony told his crew it was Junior who took out the hit. They agreed Mikey WAS TOO HIGH UP to carry it out himself. Its why Chucky had to go. Mikey was also on the FBI charts as a soldier. Finally, Chris is all steamed up ready to hit Mike at the hospital and Tony tells him...." MIKEY PALMICE'S A MADE GUY"!!........ Come on Serge......yall DO this shit

I'm just saying that if a mob boss is for legal child beating maybe don't agree with his sentiment (though tbh I don't think Tony himself would ever be capable of that. He is, in spite of all his many faults, genuinely in love with all his direct family. Even his mother, still, that's exactly why he's so pissed off and not just getting her out his hair by putting her back in Green Grove or having Janice be her caretaker. He loves her so much he wants her to suffer for all the pain she's inflicted on him in his life. It's twisted, but that's how love turns.)

The idea that kids have any power over their parent is hilarious. It's not true, never has, never will. You know how many queer kids get kicked out by their families? Even underage? Social services don't do nothing about that. Even outside of that, we're all biologically attached to our parents to some degree. Doesn't matter how shit ur parents are, ur still gonna love them and care about them to some degree, so they're always gonna have power over you. Acting out is literally proof of that. Its kids doing stupid shit to get attention precisely because they are powerless. And so few people acknowledge that and act like it should be legal to beat your kids.\

So was Michael Rispoli, who played his brother, Jackie Aprile. David Chase said it was down to him and Gandolfini for the final choice.

It says a lot how big macho man Tony Soprano is absolutely beholden to the women in his family. Meadow has him around her finger.

Hey guys just wanted to point out that Tony is the boss everyone else under the jersey family falls underneath him. If Tony decides that a “made” guy has to go it would happen but it has to be for a good reason. There will be a couple examples down the line but as of now Richie is a good example of a made guy having to “go” not obeying or paying respect to the boss.

Jason Mejia

He was also in Shawshank Redemption as well. Not a big role at all but I remember rewatching that film and doing a double take.

The Meadow, Janice and Melfi plots all comment on each other. A lot of the characters this season are trapped in some way and then there's Ritchie who has more perspective since he was actually in prison and is like an unrestrained animal that Tony really needs to reign in.

Veya

Johnny Sac was at the table when Melfi did her toodle-loo.

Joshua Taylor

David Proval (Richie Aprile) was one of the final actors being considered for the role of Tony Soprano.

Vincent Thomas Fawcett

Lol, I don't think they read these. Multiple people have explained the hierarchy and what it means to be a made man.

Jun Nik

I remember the actor who plays Richie being Stefania's father in Everybody Loves Raymond. He's essentially the same character- scary father lol.

Quick hierarchy update, Jersey is its own family, of which Junior is "offically" the boss, and Tony is the street Boss of that family as Junior is under house arrest. Though Jersey is its own family, they are still subservient in many ways to New York, New York has 5 families who run Cosa Nostra basically, so Jersey has to get permission from New York when they induct new members, for example. Jersey doesnt kick up any money to New York, unless they have partnering business deals, of which there are many. While the New York families run mafia shit, the Jersey family is pretty much independent in terms of its day to day running. Also we did meet Johnny Sac briefly in season 1, at Tony and Carmela's anniversary dinner. Johnny is an underboss of one of the New York familes, which are MUCH bigger in terms of manpower and finance, than Jersey.
