Lmao we finally got to some of the wildest stuff in this show, skinny puny grog and the living lsd trip that is the feywilds. It’s so cute seeing Percy this excited about something, and his knowledge would be useful if it wasn’t for vax fucking shut up for him. Lmao it really feels like the world does not want them to get along and work out, probably cause he’s stealing his sister from his Lannister ass.

#SundayRundown Dnd Lore!: 🍃 The Fey and Shadowfell!! 👻 “Fey” in dnd, come from “The Feywild.” It’s one of the elves’ original homes. Think of it like “The Upside-Down” from stranger things. The Feywild is 1/2 of the upside-down realm. The mortal world has 3 parts. 1. The material plane, the middle of everything and the elements, good and evil, blah blah blah it’s earth as we know it. The second is its shadow… The Shadowfell… the photo-negative. Where there was light in our world, there is dark, where there was dark there is light, where there are kingdoms of good, there are decrepit kingdoms of hate and evil. If the world is the ego, the shadowfell is the id… it’s literally the upside down. And thirdly, we have the Feywild!! The Superego! If the Shadowfell is the world’s shadow, the Feywild is if you shined it through a prism and ALL the colors started going everywhere!! It’s the parts of life that are natural, cranked to 11. The world itself has a sense of humor! If you’re old enough and feel deeply enough, you gain TRUE power! Archfey, are exactly that. Old beings in this Alice in wonderland-lookin-ass who are familiar to the world. They’re major characters in the book the Feywild is writing. And since we aren’t privy to the story the Feywild is writing, it often feels like nothing makes sense ever! Time doesn’t move, plants can think, perspective can change based on your thought of distance, the forests move with you. It’s a place to get lost. It’s a place to feel. It’s a place of fun for some and terror for others. The Feywild specifically is alive and WANTS to mess with you because it’s fun. But sometimes it loves a good epic tale with powerful people. And other times it loves a good tragedy 🎭 The Feywild is like if you zoomed in to every particle or cell of a human body and saw it all moving around and went “how the hell are we stable beings that can move all at once when we’re moving all over the place just by staying still?!”

Shout out to Cheech and Billy Boyd being in this episode

#sundayrundown quick hello from Japan! So song for Makin My Way - this is a reference to something they do on stream. Anytime someone says “making my way”, everyone quickly sings the Michelle Branch song that goes “makin my way downtown”. Since they can’t use that here, they made their own. Also we now have one half of the hobbits in LOTR! (I didn’t watch discussion section sorry if this already came up). Dom M in season 1, and now Billy Boyd as Garmelie in season 2. Also re Syngorn - there was a quick line a couple episodes ago about how Syngorn had up and disappeared, hinting at the plot heading toward this.

I believe Grog breaking Craven Edge is a reference to AD&D (2nd edition), back then, Barbarians would break magic items to gain power. In the campaign, the party banished the Craven Edge to a pocket dimension. Rewatching the campaign I forgot that Grog's search for power wasn't new to the show. There were moments here and there where he would latch on to anything that made him feel strong.

#sundayrundown A power ballad entirely based on MAKIN' MY WAY??? What did we do to deserve this blessing. Holy fuck. There were 9 eyes. I think this episode is mostly silly while also building relationships. It's a welcome break from the previous episode, especially for those who binge-watch without taking time to adjust and vent. I loved how the flowers and the bird at the beginning set the stage for the wonder and danger of the Feywild realm. The depiction of the Feyrealm is outstanding, and it’s clear that the design and animation teams really enjoyed their work. While I know some people might get annoyed by the blue humor, I appreciate that they stayed true to the stream with Garmelie. They’ve also found a way to do things on their own terms without any rights issues. I enjoyed the creative twist on common ooze and slime game mechanics with a fey touch, and the line "Garmelie was merely the Traveler on this journey" was a great moment. Stay for the credits Normies, there's a beautiful version of "Making My Way" that plays! Things to note: I don't know why, but I loved how Grog handled the Craven Edge better here. It was so badass and strong. It really showed off his character and how powerful he could be. I did not know I needed a Sam and Ashley duet in my life, but I am glad I got it. It was so awesome, the songs are better here than season 1.

In the OG livestream when grog got rid of Kraven Edge, it killed him. Welcome to The Fey Realm. The legally distinct version of the Feywild. Gotta love not having to pay Wizards of the Coast royalties.

#sundayRundown these past few episodes, Sam Riegel’s been cranking out bangers. Outhouse song, Sphinx song, Making My Way - Scanlan. Doesn’t. Miss. The cast actually sang these during the live watch party streamed when these episodes were released, so it’s something worth seeking out. Also, fun to note, three people have “voiced” Trinket on screen or at the table. In this episode, he was voiced by (fittingly) Cheech, as a fun gag. At the table, it is mostly Matt Mercer doing the bear noises (…and occasional voice, thanks to the spell, “Speak With Animals”) and it’s always a loyal but noble sounding creature. However, when Travis Willingham did Trinket, he does it a bit goofy to poke as his wife Laura Bailey. Voice actor humor. EDITORS: “trinket speaks” has to be on the Table-To-Screen playlist (Matt’s version). Also “Scanlan feeds trinket” (for Travis’ version)
