Uhh wrong episode uploaded?

Eric Bouchey

How is the 3rd episode unlocked but not the second one? 😔🤔

Michaela Evans

To be fair, in the campaign it took Travis a good two months before Grog finally grew a real beard.

I'm sure someone has explained this, but... the beginning of Campaign 1 is the Kraghammer arc. We join the crew as they are halfway through exploring Kraghammer and finishing up a quest from Lady Allura. The LoVM animated show ignores this whole arc and starts instead with a two-episode prequel (Brimscythe) and then skips directly to the Briarwood arc. (They lose Tiberius at the beginning of the Briarwood arc, for a variety of off-screen reasons, so it was easy to write him out of the show.) I think it's pretty well agreed upon among Critters that the Briarwood arc is where the group really starts clicking and the story becomes much more interesting and powerful.

#SundayRundown D&D LORE: Traps… A Little D&D info. When you are in a dungeon, often times you aren’t there with permission 😆 Dungeons can be many things from a great tree, to a swamp, to a tomb… Many traps are there to stop pillagers such as yourself and Vox Machina. If you set one off, you make a “Saving Throw” and depending on the trap and your stats you may have better or worse odds. A Rogue like Vax, for example often has VERY HIGH Dex and Investigation skills for spotting, dodging, and disarming traps. Most traps use your Dexterity for ones you can dodge, or your Constitution for ones you can’t. (There are other traps, enemies, and spells who can make you do other saves, like Intelligence or Wisdom. And spells can be put into traps. So don’t think you’re fully safe with high Dex.) In the show, Percy succeeded and took half to no damage. Vex, who really should have succeeded, rolled a NATURAL 1! She took the full force of the trap and ☠️ Be careful when you play 😈

#SundayRundown Kash told them the tomb was a temple to the Matron of Ravens, The Goddess of Death. The parties encountered some traps and minor bad guys along the way, tippling off the place was rigged. Vax, expert thief, literally told them not to touch anything. Percy then proceeded to “F around and find out,” except Vex was in the area For perspective, this is like trying to break into a house with a “Beware the Dog” sign on the lawn, a “thin blue line” and “NRA” flags flying on the roof, and bars on the windows.

OptionZero

One of the mods here alluded to making a list so I assume so

#SundayRundown Apologies if this has been asked before, but I was wonder if you guys plan to watch the 'origin moments', a bunch of comparison moments of the show and campaign scenes? Most of the reactors watch them between seasons, I think it'd be super interesting for you guys to see! Also fun fact, the whole making fun of Purvon thing is canon to the game. The players mocked the name, it was one of those cases where the DM writes down a name without considering how funny it sounds out loud, haha.

Funny you say Percy got greedy (not that he wasn't) when it was Vex's greed that got her killed in the campaign. In the campaign, she was standing over by the rope waiting for Vax to come back up but when they started opening the sarcophagus she was like "ooh! Loot/treasure!" and sprinted over. If she stayed where she was she'd have been in no danger.

#SUNDAYDRUNDOWN VOX MACHINA. Okay its a shame Pat wasn't here, he would have had a field day with the twins. They just aren't beating the allegations, they're on that Cersei and Jamie grindset, last season it was all about Vex being clingy and now we switch to Vax being the clingy one.

#SundayRundown TLOVM. So they aired these first three episodes of season 2 in theaters. I knew this was coming. I still bawled like a baby. Liam O'Brien's (Vax) voice acting in particular was outstanding. Vax crying at the end as we fade to black is heart wrenching. To clarify (this was in the episodes, not spoilers): Vestiges are magical items - armor, weapons, jewelry, etc, with insane magical properties. The Deathwalker's Ward is a set of armor connected to the Matron of Ravens, goddess of death and fate. It was worn by her champion, Purvan Suul. It's in his tomb. He used to wear it. They're robbing a corpse lol. Edit: Suraj "yeah there's sometimes you risk death in campaigns" - like going into the high security room in the jail we were infiltrating that the DM specifically pointed out we would die in if we went to? Like that Suraj? That was hilarious but omfg your immediate reaction was "I need to see in there" and then you almost died lol

Manny D.

The belt Grog puts on is The Belt Dwarvenkind. It reads as such. While wearing this belt, you gain the following benefits: Dwarvish. You know Dwarvish. Friend of Dwarvenkind. You have Advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) checks made to interact with dwarves and duergar. Toughness. Your Constitution increases by 2, to a maximum of 20. In addition, while attuned to the belt, you have a 50 percent chance each day at dawn of growing a full beard if you can grow one, or a thicker beard if you already have one. If you aren’t a dwarf or duergar, you gain the following additional benefits while wearing the belt: Darkvision. You have Darkvision with a range of 60 feet. Resilience. You have Resistance to Poison damage. You also have Advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the Poisoned condition.

#SundayRundown Right off the bat, Vex'ahlia is dead. In the campaign, Percy got greedy and reached for the armor, he and Vex failed a perception check, and triggered the trap, which was some kind of death bolt spell. Also, of all the episodes for Pat to miss, smh.

Gwyn

Yes to answer you question the Briarwood arc is like episodes 24 through 36 of Critical role. The animated series skips a lot of those early episodes.

Hi, not much explaining here, just saw your comment and need to say... I love all the early Underdark stuff they did, just wish that the person who personed wasn't there to try to ruin it... I'd be so happy if, down the line, they decide to adapt Yug'Voriel and K'varn, and (fucking) Clarota for the animated show, in whatever way they choose to do it.

minya

Hey, hi, my first time leaving a comment since I subbed on patreon. Love your reactions so much y'all ❤️ tlovm is what I subbed for, but I'll definitely branch out to watch more of the stuff you have on the channel. Thank you for another amazing reaction, keep 'em coming ⭐️ Trying to take the armor of the goddess of death, within the tomb of her champion, without thoroughly checking for traps, I mean... this was bound to happen. There's a video on youtube showing the comparison of the scenes (what happened in campaign 1 and this scene on the show, and its continuation in episode 4) and its so good. There's so many incredible nuances and details. Liam's acting always breaks my heart, I started crying watching this again... can't wait to watch your reaction to episode 4, that's gonna be bonkers. Enjoy y'all 🥹

minya

Yeah that girl dead 🤷‍♂️ She triggered a trap that did a enough necrotic damage to reduce her HP to zero. If this trap reduced your HP to zero, it killed you.

Smash Bran'Discootch

You are correct Suraj. They left out Clarota, rescuing Lady Kima, K’Varn, Yug’Voriel stuff. Someone on here will probably explain this much better. Lol
