With the psychiatrist sex scene (she is a psychiatrist, not a therapist, she can prescribe medication, which a therapist cannot, and its worth noting her accolades (even if she is objectively awful for what she's going along with)) I always took the "her ass ain't that phat" line to imply that Tony was *actually* dreaming about Dr. Melphi, which is why he immediately sweeps it under the rug when she mentions that. We already know he's attracted to her and wants to fuck her, and she's... not exactly opposed to that? Like, if she were taking this realistically, she would have removed him as a patient and recommended him to someone else. Because she is,. in some way, attracted to him, and his position. It's a frankly fascinating psycho-sexual situation and is probably one of my favorite aspects of the show. I could be wrong. I've never seen anything after S1 in its entirety and what I have seen I do not remember so I'm purely speculating here, to be clear. I wouldn't post otherwise because I respect genuine spoiler culture (I say genuine because people label stuff that is not remotely spoilery as spoilers, particularly openings for shows: we live in insane times. Like, if there's something in an opening thats "spoiling something" and its not a bogstandard shounen anime... the showrunners *want* you to see that thing and think about it. whether it develops into an actual plot point or not. They make openings with the INTENTION that they're gonna be watched every episode. It's literally part of the writing intent.).

Thank you, Normies. I was looking forward to more of The Sopranos.

Tony has always held resentment against Livia for how she treated him, but he felt guilty about this because of his cultural background. Now that he has confirmation about his mom trying to get him killed, he can hate Livia as much as he wants without feeling guilty. The reason why Chris left when Tony told the gang about him going to therapy was because Tony was ragging on Chris about his feelings of depression, even though Tony was seeing a psychiatrist the whole time. Livia is arguably the most evil person in this show, trying to kill Tony all because he put her in a nursing home and is going to a psychiatrist . She used Junior and Artie, probably the two people who Tony has a close relationship with, to try to kill him. Then her smiling at Tony was just pure evil because she’s laughing at the fact that he knows but can’t do anything to her. Also everytime I hear Suraj and Chris say ‘the writing is on the wall’ I can’t help but giggle because Uncle Jun once said, “Take it easy. We’re not making a Western here”

"Cunnilingus and psychiatry brought us to dis.." might be my favorite quote in any medium.
