2025-05-09 17:46:00 +0000 UTCBill Hader co-created, wrote, and directed this show and it clearly shows. This show should be examined in college as a perfect example of a dark comedy. It's literally the two sides of the show. You're gonna see some incredibly dark elements, as well as some comedy bits that will have you pause the show to catch your breath. The fact both can be present in episodes of the show just goes to show you how great this series is. This is a top 5 show for me and I'm so glad you guys are checking it out.

Anthony Carrigan (who plays NoHo Hank) is wonderful in this show and will be portraying Metamorpho in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman in July 👀

2025-05-06 15:50:23 +0000 UTC#sunday rundown - Barry is so good! The way it shifts from comedy to drama and vice-versa is phenomenal. It's as silly as it is dark, and as violent as it is camp. There's an Australian show called 'Mr Inbetween' that has a loosely similar vibe - "Ray Shoesmith, an assassin by profession, finds it difficult to juggle between various roles of a father, lover and a friend". It's got a more Tarantino / Pulp fiction vibe to it than Barry, but they're both phenomenal in their own right. I'm also going to leave another recommendation for 'The righteous Gemstones' since the finale aired yesterday. It might be the funniest show I've watched in the last 5+ years and has one of the most stacked casts: Danny Mcbride, Walton Goggins, John Goodman, Adam Devine, Edi Patterson, Steve Zahn, Eric Andre, Meghan Mullaly, Michael Rooker, Sean William Scott (Stiffler), Jason Schwartzman, Macaulay Culkin - The lesser known actors crush it as well, specifically 'BJ' and 'Keefe'. Hopefully it makes a poll in the near future. Shout out again for choosing Barry though!
