I like how the characters are regularly repeats common misconceptions and myth as fact and sometimes we see little factoids being transmitted from person to person.

As far as Mob movies to watch, Godfather 1-3, Goodfellas, Casino and Scarface are the movies most referenced in The Sopranos. Miller's Crossing, the departed, A History of Violence and the road to perdition is not really referenced cause those movies deal with the irish mob but all 4 are great movies. The road to perdition and A history of violence are both actually based on a DC comic graphic novels.

People used to believe fingernails continued to grow after death but that turned out to be a myth. Fingernails look like they continue to grow because the skin retracts due to the body dehydrating after death. This happens with hair as well.

AJ was playing blast corps. I loved that game as a kid.

The fact that Chris thinks he has a regular life, is testament to what kind of effed up environment he grew up in. I love Chris' early storylines in trying to become made, its kind of relatable, yet entirely messed up.

Agreed. Christopher: “Why can’t I be happy? What is it with me?” Tony: “It’s called being a f***ing human being.” Christopher vocalizes it. Tony internalizes it. They’re both trapped in roles that don’t allow space for real emotional clarity. No one in their world teaches them how to process pain. Only how to silence it with violence, money, or distraction. No roadmap to get out of the suffering

Not gonna lie, seeing Chris wasn't on the couch killed any excitement I had to watch. He's been the only one keeping things on the rails so far.

The episode made Chris relatable to many viewers in their 20s and early 30s. The parallel between Chris’s depression and Tony’s is interesting: Tony is at the top of the mob game, yet he still feels depressed and angry, while Chris's depression comes from lacking a self-identity and self-worth. However, in their conversation, Tony seems to imply that he wants to die, while Chris isn’t as suicidal or as prone to idealizing death as Tony is. Melfi’s storyline is also thought provoking in this episode, exploring cultural identity and moralism. Eventually, these gray areas start to fade, and we ultimately still grapple with good and evil. P.S. If you haven’t seen Goodfellas yet, the scene where Chris shoots the baker’s foot is a reference to it, so be on the lookout.
