One of the most common themes in Star Wars: everything is for Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious. The entire reason these shows happen is in some way due to Palpatine’s plans. In this show’s case, all of this happened because Palpatine was exploring ways to become immortal by creating clone bodies of himself that are able to contain his unmatched power in the Force. Practically everything in Star Wars can somehow be traced back to Palpatine and his quest for unlimited power and immortality. Palpatine be like: “I AM Star Wars.”

#SundayRundown Bad Batch MSE/Mouse droids are for maintenance. They clean floors, carry messages, and guide people. “Many would consider your work an abomination.” The dark side is a guide to many skills

Crosshair being annoyed with omega to giving her hope that they’ll get off tantiss was so touching. This is just the beginning of the Crosshair and omega adventures. Can’t wait to watch your reactions to see how their relationship develops

"Somehow Palpatine returned" yeah no shit 😂 now we finally see on screen how obssessed he is with immortality. Project Necromancer starts with Omega and continues all the way until the time of Baby Yoda in Mando. He really intends on ruling over everyone for the rest of time.

#SundayRundown This episode being named Shadows of Tantiss, and Palpatine showing up was super exciting for old Star Wars fans, since in the old canon Tantiss was introduced in the same book as Thrawn. It was Palpatine's secret base where he kept all his most secret stuff, like the cloning tanks and cloaking devices. The dude in charge had the same vibe as Baylan Skoll, and he tried to turn Luke to the Dark Side. He was also a clone of a Jedi master that was an experiment in cloning Force sensitives.

#SundayRundown. Rewatching this episode, I think Project Necromancer is a great showcase of not only Palpatine’s fixation with extending his own life, but how the Sith in general are obsessed with immortality. Remember this: “Did you ever hear the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise? It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise that he could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians to create life. He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying." -Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. It feels especially relevant to me, since I recently read the EU book, Darth Plagueis, by James Luceno (Required Reading, better than Andor IMO. To be fair I love Andor, but a lot of the EU books I’ve read have Andor’s quality of storytelling (Love You Timothy Zahn)). The book focuses on Palpatine’s apprenticeship and training under his master, the Sith Lord, Darth Plagueis. It is a fascinating character study and look into the disturbing actions the Sith commit in order to protect their power and legacy, even gaining immortality. In the show’s case, it’s cloning that is the form of immortality. Also, if you thought the Senate was corrupt in the Clone Wars, Bad Batch, and Andor, boy oh boy you haven’t seen anything yet. As for the book, it even gives readers a quick history lesson of the history of the Sith before the age of Darth Bane (he created the Rule of Two) and after. Bane even has his own book trilogy from Drew Karpyshyn (the writer behind Mass Effect 1 & 2 and Knights Of The Old Republic). Last thing, what was your favorite announcement from celebration? Can’t wait for more Star Wars content from you guys.
