My only real constructive criticism is 1) do your best not to talk over one another unless it's in character, 2) maybe each person can find a visual cue (like a hat, or a piece of clothing, or a weapon) that you use to indicate that you're currently in character - and only stop role playing when that item isn't being worn/held, 3) let the DM lead the conversations more when NPCs are involved, and play off of him instead of thinking about mechanics or loot or having conversations on your own to direct the story yourself (this is a common mistake for new players)

Some constructive criticism/feedback for players: It's awkward and not very RP-friendly to be directing the DM what you want to roll for. Instead of saying, I'm gonna roll for Perception Check and then expect the DM to be a yes man every time. Instead, ask your DM that your character wants to find out what an object that NPC is holding and the DM can decide the most appropriate skill check. This is a collaborative game with your DM and party members. This isn't a solo experience with the DM as your yes man and the party members as your tools. Stay in character as much as possible. RP the shit out of your character's class, race, background, and stats. It's fine to make mistakes, trust that your DM will help you.
