They got a professional troupe to come on board the project and create a legit play based on the backstory of Lady Ochiba; which they filmed in Japan. FUN FACT 2: They actually filmed most of the indoor scenes in Japan. Basically, whenever we're inside a castle or other lavish dwelling, that was filmed in Japan. Whenever we're outside, that was filmed in British Columbia. 😆

Love triangle chaos Kiku: “Tell him to come again…” Mariko: Switches from “She says” to “I” with death in her eyes Me: EXCITED Then Toranaga hits: “Send him courtesans... and Mariko, you go too.” Mariko’s face: PURE INTERNAL SCREAMING Yabushige dropping “Time to write another will” like it’s Monday Gold. Mariko’s Catholic roast reaction = Emmy-worthy Ochiba’s eyes alone could burn kingdoms Tonoda? He KNOWS This show = Feudal Japan meets Shohei Ohtani and Ippei drama Secrets, seduction, politics… 10/10
