BSG: Razor movie!

Hello!

We recently found out thanks to your comments here and on youtube that there is a movie to watch in the BSG universe. Some of you would love for us to watch it in between seasons 2 and 3, while others fear there might be spoilers and we should just watch it in the end, after BSG. So we are going to let this poll decide best course of action.

Release Order. Here’s everything from the reboot, including movies and webisodes. The webisodes aren’t required, but personally, I’d still love to see reactions to them. You do need to see the movies. “Caprica” is a prequel spin-off, so that one’s up to you.

The Season 3 finale aired on March 25, 2007. Razor aired on November 24, 2007. Season 4 premiered April 4, 2008. This shouldn't even be a poll. Watch it between S3 and S4, as it's meant to be watched. I think the people voting for you to hold off until the series is over are thinking of "The Plan," not Razor.

Yes it is - the Season 3 finale aired on March 25, 2007. Razor aired on November 24, 2007. Season 4 premiered April 4, 2008.

As I was the one who kicked off this entire thing with my post last bsg release, just want to say I now agree that it should be watched after s3, because of the spoilers in the last 10 minutes but also its how we experienced it the first time. Its not a huge deal but why not its a great show and the crew can watch it the same way everyone who watched it when it aired did. Any time I rewatch bsg I watch razor between 2 and 3, but first time yes I was wrong for first time viewers watch it as released between 3-4

I don't remember it that in depth so I can't say. I know it primarily centers on Cain and Pegasus but the finer details are long forgotten. I would recommend just watch it according to release timeline. Can't go wrong with what you're supposed to know or not that way.

Benjamin Donahue

This is my thinking as well.

How about watching it in the order it's supposed to be watched?

Scott

it came out before season 2 and is usually soposed to be watched before.

Tyre Willis

wait wy are a lot of people clicking between season 3 and 4? thats not when it was aired.

Tyre Willis

How is there even a question about this? Razor is meant to be seen between S3 and S4. That's when it was broadcast, and both its references to the past and its hints about the future are intentional for that point in the series.

Michael Rubinstein

There’s also a second movie. BSG The Plan. You need to watch that at the very end of the series. It fills in story details for every season.

Razor was made with the understanding that folks would be watching it from the perspective of having just finished season three, and certain interpersonal dynamics become more interesting when viewed through that lens. In particular, one aspect of the movie plants some seeds in your brain that you're not even supposed to be thinking of before season three. If you watch it early you run the risk of having the clues necessary to guess certain developments in advance, rather than be surprised by them down the line. Whether that's a spoiler or not is up to you. For me, it's like the difference between a Youtube comment that says, "X dies in episode X," versus one that says, "I hope you're not attached to certain characters this season," or "get the tissues out for this episode." Personally, I consider the latter to be spoilers, as I would rather be caught off-guard completely by a plot or character development.
