#SundayRundown We need to talk about Melshi’s blaster (the one Vel recognized). In S1’s first arc, Andor takes a Morlana security blaster (The logo is on the handle) off of Syril. He brings it to Aldhani, where he meets Vel. When the dude from The Bear dumps all Andor’s stuff, Vel can see the blaster. after Aldhani, Andor goes to Ferrix, then Nismo, where he stashes the blaster above the shower of the fuck room. After escaping from Narkina, he travels with Melshi to retrieve Nemek’s journal and the blaster, which he gives to Melshi. Then Melshi has it on Yavin, where Vel spots it. It’s a JOURNEY. Just another piece of remarkable writing.

Definitely worth watching again after this episode, syncs up so well. A minor retconning off the Sneate speech, then the rest flows

Bix made the ultimate sacrifice. She might not have died, but she has given up her happiness and after all she's suffered, for the good of others. It's just as brave as those that die for the rebellion for me. I hope she finds out what happens to Cassian and isn't forever wondering. Plus, no we can attribute his drive to succeed at all costs as he finally is fighting for something for himself - his future with Bix. Also, the fact they have Cassian towards the end of that ep, out in the open, sky behind him, wind blowing, looking so tired and in a similar shirt, to how he looks on that beach in Rogue One. A heartbreaking ending but one that fits this series. By the way the Senate building is in Spain! It was also used in Westworld!

This was a really intriguing and emotional episode, and fun end discussion. If this was the finale, I would be fine with it.

Not some of y’all on the couch wishing Bix was dead… I’m with Navi, glad she’s alive. I also feel like, if Bix died, that would’ve broke Cassian and he wouldn’t have been able to go on. Plus, regarding the writing, they already did the tired “bury your gays” trope and killed Cinta, would’ve hated it if they also did the tired fridging trope. (Hopefully she remains alive in the last three episodes 🤞🏾) That’s just how I feel, y’all can disagree if you want 🤷🏾‍♀️ Also: Cassian knows damn well running won’t solve anything—in season 1, he was literally doing nothing, minding his own business and he got put into the killing prison that was actually a Death Star parts workshop. If they ran again, the Force would bring his ass back to the fray anyway. Bix was doing both of them a favor. Also also: Navi, your dress! Lovely color, looks great on you!

Rana is being a hypocrite to Bix. Andor wanting to pull her out of the rebellion is making a choice for her as well. She wants to see this through. If he makes the choice to leave it has to be for his own happiness, which isn’t why he’s leaving and Bix knows it. He’s making her more important than another genocide the Empire will inflict if the rebellion fails.

According to Genevieve O’Reilly, Mon Mothma's speech was written and filmed in May 2023. Even with the show always being well-versed and sharp in the sadly cyclical nature of history, that speech was still some crazy prescient stuff.

Not just you. I am 100% satisfied if this is her ending. She's been through so much, and in shows like these, these types of tragic characters never get a happy ending. Bix realizes that the Rebellion is so much bigger than the two of them and the future they could have. And it's not as big of a pivot as people seem to think. In the previous Arc, she tells Cassian that she wants to win to make everything worth it. And even he says a similar thing to Mon in this episode. It makes sense to me, and, again I'm very satisfied if this is her ending

What an odd release schedule for very clear 3 part arcs. Just kills the momentum. And lately I feel like the reactions are becoming overly cynical, like just wanting Bix to die. Very trope and maybe a symptom of consuming too much media if you just want things to always hit the same beats cause it's easier to deal with.

Davey

Kinda annoyed that the crew wanted Bix to die, I thought her leaving was a powerful scene. Anyone else or just me ?

Allan Jacob

Anyone else think it’s kinda fucked that micky basically wanted Bix to be fridged?

There’s already a sequel to this arc in Rebels! The S3 episode where the crew meets Mon Mothma. That’s where she gives the second speech, rallying all the cells to become the Rebel Alliance Erskin is there. And she was getting escorted by Gold Squadron. Some of the rebels also watch a bit of her senate speech, though the words and energy are different. There’s speculation it’s now a less severe imperial fabrication Wait, Navi hasn’t watched any animation! Start a rewatch of the shows with her as a new watcher!
