Bella channeled Ellie’s rage so brilliantly. You really felt the cold, hard determination from Ellie’s dead eyes when she said “I know.” It reminded me of Joel in Salt Lake. Then she converted that calm anger into fiery rage when it came to beating Nora to death. Nora definitely felt Ellie’s love for Joel. It was so good. Also Joel did not have it coming. This take is reductive and misses the entire point of the story. If Joel had it coming then literally every person we see being tortured and killed in this story all have it coming. Every single one. That mindset is the problem. That’s what kills us. Dina’s backstory is in the game. It’s just in the in-game banter. The show expands upon it and gives it more emphasis.

2025-05-13 14:29:42 +0000 UTCMickey, while in the first game the four stages of infection are Runner, Stalker, Clicker and then Bloater, the show isn't doing that. Also, with Part 2, the Shambler was a different mutation. Not part of the normal stages of infection. The show is taking this further. Now, Stalkers are their own thing. Which makes more sense, because their behavior wasn't in line with their stage of evolution. Also, Spores are being treated as an evolution. There was no Spores in season 1. In the games, dead infected spew out the Spores. But now they made it live infected, so these are a new stage of infected just for the show. Pretty cool.

In the game it really felt like a more somber Ellie having to force herself to be like Joel and do what he would have done despite not being that kind of person. Here the way they’ve written Ellie have her coming off more as an annoying brat with that inherent violence and psycho in her, going back to what the therapist said about her they added her just to really hammer home what Ellie is in the show.
