Saw most likely lied about that dude being a traitor. The guy wasn't sure of himself in doing the assignment. Saw felt more assured about the kid. He's just a ruthless guy and has no loyalty to anyone. A reason why he is so alone in Rogue One.

Edrio was most prominent in the Rebels S4 episodes where they found a giant kyber with Saw Not really a spoiler bc it was in Rebels, but there’s an event called the Ghorman Massacre which is what pushes Mon Mothma to finally leave the imperial senate •In Legends, the Ghorman Massacre is what here was described as the Tarkin Massacre. Landing his star destroyer on 500 Ghormans. So Ghorman is gonna get 2 massacres!
