In the show, it’s established that turning into a zombie after being bitten takes different amounts of time depending on the location of the bite: - Neck/Head/Face: 5-15 minutes - Torso/Arm/Shoulder: 2-8 hours - Leg/Foot: 12-24 hours Given that Dina has been out on patrol for a long time, you would think she would be aware of these timelines. Instead, she was immediately ready to shoot Ellie, even though they would have had plenty of time to say their goodbyes.
