#SundayRundown #BattlestarGalactica Now that you're into S2, I just wanted to remind you of the upcoming extended episodes. If you're going to watch the extended versions, the first one is coming up, S2E10 Pegasus. Theres also the previously mentioned between-season webisode/movie content for S2/3 and S3/4.

It's one of the creepiest existential lines in the entire series that's always stuck with me. Head-Six talking about God turning his back on Kobol and that if you die on that planet your soul is just lost to oblivion.

It's hard to tell if Gaius messed up, he relayed the info about the 2 cylons being at the radar dish, he was only told to watch for 5 minutes, not his fault if the 2 cylons leave later. Rewatching that scene it now appears the two Cylons leave right after he leaves which he didn't see. Also it's a little funny Navi googled "Fragged" (at 23:00 youtube cut) and then no one read the definition. You missed the "killing a commanding officer" part of the definition. I'm not even mad, that was kinda funny.

Frag can mean killing in general, and it's used in some online shooters to describe when someone explodes into pieces. But in this context it has a more specific meaning of when soldiers intentionally kill someone on their own side (usually their commanding officer). The name comes from the fact that in Vietnam, US soldiers would often use fragmentation grenades to do it because it was easier to cover up who was responsible.

Fragged is a term sometimes used for the Assassination of a superior officer by junior or enlisted personnel.

This one was always one of the details that really stood out to me. The 5 paragraph Operations Order (OPORD) Brief is actually a thing. Though he says "it's not usually used so literally in the field", it actually very much is (for conventional forces at least). Though for sure it's to varying degrees by unit and of course this is an extreme situation depicted, the whole point is to address all of the critical planning considerations of an operation and make sure EVERY participating element knows the plan. It's easy to make fun of but Crashdown would've been even more remiss to not do it at all, espescially with a hasty team of support personel. Crashdown himself is probably the most prepared, but for everyone else (including Chief) it's more of a secondary skill set that's only occasionally trained at best.
