2025-02-20 19:36:19 +0000 UTC#SundayRundown Battlestar Yeah, all the pilots outrank Chief Tyrol. The pilots are officers, the Chief is an N.C.O. aka Non-Commissioned Officer. Even the lowest officer outranks the highest ranking NCO. Officers are often upperclass college educated, NCO's and Enlisted men are usually common folk. That's true in science fiction and in real life. Katee Sackhoff's acting is amazing when she finds out Sharon is pregnant. Her face freezes for like 5 seconds, kinda funny, like her brain has stopped working, then she understands and lets out that awful scream, that's great acting.

2025-02-20 19:03:04 +0000 UTCRana's epic fail is the type of reaction many had when watching this finale for the first time. WHAT.....THEY KILLED ADAMA! Showrunner Ronald D. Moore and other BSG writers went into this series with many years of science fiction writing experience including most of the well written storytelling moments in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine". As a result, the science fiction writing process was a well-oiled machine and they gave the viewer one of the best first seasons of a science fiction series. Also, it's going to sound like a broken record by many posters here praising the BSG score, but Bear McCreary's score went off in the two-part finale. He's composed many great scores from Black Sails to God of War but his early work in BSG will always be my favorite compositions from him. "The Shape of Things to Come" theme used in Baltar's opera house vision still makes a regular appearance on my music playlist.

2025-02-20 17:54:31 +0000 UTC#SundayRundown (BSG): when I first watched I was also confused by Crashdown's rank. Military Pilots are automatically comissioned officers (Crashdown is a lieutenant). This is true in the US air force as well. Its hard to explain, bu t the training and responsiblity that comes with piloting a 2 ton death machine is seen as equal to going to military college. Tyrol is a non comissioned officer, meaning he probably enlisted and worked his way up the ranks. He hasn't had that military leadership training, so he is outranked by all the pilots even with his experience.
