The person that's come the closest to Christopher Reeve's body and voice change is Tyler Hoechlin's version which is probably the best version of Superman since Reeve.

Great reaction. I've heard that the time travel scene with the earth spinning backwards was a representation of him going back in time not actually him spinning the earth backwards. The reason Superman has unspecific powers in this is because the writers did not read any of the comics and that's why things are goofy and might not follow comics or other media. At least that's what I've heard. -Also if you watch the next one make sure to watch the directors cut

Gene Hackman refused to shave his head, so they had to write in the wig sub plot. Supes 1 and 2 were filmed at the same time but they were running out of time so they stopped filming the Supes 2 scenes and went on to finish the part 1 scenes. They also fired the director, Richard Donner and finished part 2 with a different director. The "American Way" is a term DC comics came up with during the Cold War to make Superman more american, even though he is technically, an illegal alien. I vote for watching Superman 3 as i love it but it is goofy. Richard Pryor is awesome in the movie and it seriously has one of the scariest scenes in superhero movie history (that goes for marvel and dc). When i was a kid, i had to fast forward that scene or just close my eyes. LOL

I swear no other actor has done what Christoper reeve did when it comes to body language and voice change of making a superhero identity look different like doesn't need a mask he is the mask lol. Would love to seem watch some of the Superman animated movies too like the Elite one or better yet they gotta watch Smallville!

I second this

RIP Margot Kidder (Lois) and now Gene Hackman (Lex)

The trope Spidey mentioned of catching a car in the air is actually the very first Cover of Action Comics aka Supermans comic

dannydarko27

Legit one of the best sequels.

Ms. Teschmacher did kiss Superman but she's the villain, It's making me realize that that happens a lot in DC comics properties. Kind of like when Cat woman goes for the kiss on Batman and he doesn't kiss back or Red Arrow and Chesire.

Man I really hope they get to watch the superman and Louis tv show from the cw.

tsujoi

I dunno man. In the real world there are people who temporarily change their personalities: they're called actors. When I see Tom Cruise temporarily change his personality, I can still tell that it is Tom Cruise

Thoko

Woah. Navi looks angry in that thumbnail. What did Pat do now?

Thoko

Marketa: is that how time works?Spidey: woo! Hell nah

Cee Jay

they've talked about this to death tbf. The movies took a break until they finished Creature Commandos. The movies should be back next week

I guess Spidey is the prime example of why no one connects that Clark is Superman. It’s not just the glasses, it’s the personality, plus here he also slouches, changes his voice, doesn’t look at people directly out of being “timid” or “nervous”. In a show episode Clark was put through a lie detector and the response to the results was basically “This fuckin nerd is Superman? Nah, machine has a crossed wire.” This crew has no idea the insane goofy shit that happened/Superman did in early comics. I’m pretty sure this movie is tame by comparison.

This reaction isn't complete without Superman 2. Perfect sequel.

The Normies don't react to documentaries but now that they watched this film, it would be cool if they reacted to Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story. In our current times, it's sometimes good to watch something uplifting and positive.

Chaos T

Cool that you’re watching this, but are you going to resume the animated movies too?

AWH

I know in the Fleischer cartoons it was just Truth and Justice. The Superman tv show started the American Way I believe during the Cold War.

Cee Jay

This was a nice surprise!

Zeee

For decades, Superman's theme was "Truth, Justice, and the American Way." More recently, in the comics and in the show Superman and Lois, it's "Truth, Justice, and a Better Tomorrow." Which fits, because Superman is also called "The Man of Tomorrow."

Jul_Belton

why? this film is and always will be incredible

Ngl I wish we had movie polls…

So, I'm old enough to have seen this in the cinema when it was first released. It was an incredible time for movies, at the start of 1978 I saw star wars, and it was like nothing else at the time. At the end of the year this one came along. It was so popular, they made us kids sit on the stairs between the seats, so they could fit more people in. Would never be allowed today. The tag in all the advertising was 'You'll beleive a man can fly' , and if you look at how they did the wire work, you can see how different it was to what came before.

This has me excited for a Batman 1989 reaction. But this reaction was fun to watch. Thank you.
