I've been holding off on this because I don't want to cry again, but here we go....

This might be my favorite Buffyverse episode full stop. That’s a perfectly written episode of television. I’m so glad that Charisma agreed to come back and give Cordy the send off that the character deserved. And that final scene never fails to make me cry. This episode just gives me all the feels both happy and sad. Apparently Charisma only agreed to come back if the writers agreed not to kill the character off but when she read the script she knew that it was too good of an ending and so well written that she agreed anyways.

#SundayRundown #Angel #100episodes Heartbreaking, emotional, and impactful 100th episode. Cordy is such an awesome character that had one of the biggest growths in the Buffyverse. I think this send-off was really good despite the BTS drama of season 4. I'm glad we at least got closure for her character and she could say her goodbyes. In the scene where Cordy is watching the Doyle video, they foreshadow her death when she tells Angel: "He [Doyle] knew. Knew what he had to do and didn't compromise. He used his last breath to make sure you'd keep fighting. I get that NOW..." Side note: Suraj you were right the first time, Angel and Lindsay first met in the pilot episode, and they reference here when Angel kicked Lindsay's client out a window. The client was a rich vampire that killed the blonde girl Angel was trying to help. Fun fact: In the scene where Harmony smacks Eve a bunch of times, Mercedes actually DID end up hitting Sarah Thompson (Eve) in the face, but they kept it in. Thats why you see Eve hold her chin afterwards cause it really did hurt. Similar to that one Buffy S3 episode (3x4) when Faith is listening to her Walkman and backhands Buffy by mistake, (Eliza Dushku really did hit SMG by mistake).

#SundayRundown If Charisma Carpenter were a season 5 regular we woulda had 20 more episodes of Officecore Cordy Think about that, Rana

Cordelia definitely has the most growth from beginning to end of the Buffyverse, ultimately my favorite character along with Faith. You do at least see the real Cordy in a couple of episodes in Season 4, only the scenes in which she's in the higher plane screaming for help and to get her out of there lol. If you ever rewatch you'll see the character differences from the Jasmine controlled Cordelia more clearly. And last but not least, I definitely ship Angel and Cordy and it sucks that never got to truly play out. Their relationship is the healthiest in either series (sans season 4) T_T.

Unfortunately, Whedon handled the pressure of making successful tv shows by being mean, petty and a total asshole to people that worked for him. Just think about it. In 2002 and 2003 he was doing stuff for 3 shows at the same time: Buffy season 7, Angel season 4 and Firefly season 1. That's just insane. Whedon liked to foreshadow things in his shows. He planned character arcs months, even years in advance. That's why he went ballistic when Charisma got pregnant. Apparently, her arc in season 4 was going to be completely different but then they had to write her pregnancy into the show and change the story for the whole season... and the story they came up with really sucked. Just so we're clear, I'm not defending his behaviour. Nothing justifies being cruel and mean to others. I just think it's a shame. Buffy and Angel are awesome shows but without the backstage drama would probably have been even better. Imagine that.

It was definitely Cordy in that hospital bed. She must have somewhat astral-projected, but in corporeal form (she touched like everyone). A beautiful sendoff, despite Charisma's treatment over the seasons. It was great to see actual Cordy one last time :,)

what a great episode and great sendoff for Charisma/Cordelia. I'm so happy we get one more episode where Cordy is acting like herself. She acts and sounds like early Cordy, she's fun and up beat again, no more of the dour performance she has through S4. I know Charisma deserved a lot more and was mis treated by joss but in terms of what we got, this is a beautiful episode for her. The twist at the end.. amazing and heartbreaking. I love her final line... oh... and you're welcome! and then the audience slowly clues in on what happened. Amazing writing. Also, the fight with Lindsay/Angel was fun. I understand wanting a bit more out of it but what we got was still fun. Lindsay with his new powers was funny and cocky but Angel still defeats him. One my fav Angel lines is when he beats Lindsay and he says Doesn't matter where I am or how badass you think you've become. 'Cause you know what? I'm Angel. I beat the bad guys. (epic music playing in background lol). Just a simple line summing up why i love Angel so much

Charisma had every right to give the finger to Joss Whedon and not return in S5 but I’m so grateful she decided to do it. At least the fans got to see Cordy one last time with a proper send off. ❤️#TeamCharisma

#SundayRundown To piggyback off of what I told you in the Twitch stream about why Cordelia was here instead of Buffy and why she died at the end, there was also a 100th episode wrap party. Apparently, Joss Whedon gave significant and meaningful intros to all of the cast……..except for Charisma Carpenter. If there is one thing Joss Whedon excelled at it was being petty. Also this is the first time Angel has seen Cordy since the Season 3 finale and the first time Wesley has seen Cordy since 3x14 since he was isolated from the team when she came back from her vacation with Groo.

the 100 episode wrap party for this was apparently the last time all of them were together, cast and crew not sure how true it is but thats story thats been going around since forever. So I guess they did all get to go out for drinks together.

The original plan for this episode was for Sarah Michelle Gellar to return as Buffy but she couldn't do it due to work obligations and the death of her aunt. So instead they decided to finish off Cordy's story and to sort of salvage fans' impressions of cordy after Whedon's character assassination of her.

Smash Bran'Discootch

Angel, Cordelia, and Lindsey were the 3 characters in this episode who were in the first episode of the series

#sundayrundown Charisma Carpenter stated she did NOT want to return to the show if they were just going to kill her off... she told them no when they asked her... until they sent her the script. She said it was such a beautiful ending for her character, she decided to do it anyway. We lose track of it sometimes, but man, Cordelia was only like 24.
