This reminds me of when Mark’s outtie said: "My wife was extraordinary. My wife liked other people's dogs. My wife thought cardigans were ridiculous. I loved all these things about her equally." And Severance is usually very deliberate when it shows us something, so I think Mark's health will decline. I don't think they're showing him coughing for no reason.

2025-02-15 07:37:19 +0000 UTCBro Mark has serious emotional issues. The 2 most important lines in this episode have to be what Mark said when others talked about Gemma and Irving. "He/She is not dead. He's/She's just not here". He seems to be in denial about Irving and hopeful about Gemma at the same time. Is there a difference? We also got indirect confirmation through the performance review, the funeral and the need for an "obligement session" to "rebalance" Hellena's tempers, that Lumon is monitoring emotions like the 4 tempers and "affection" via the chips. Which ALSO suggests that everyone at Lumon is chipped but only some are severed.

In other words the "big words" and "paper clips" items are anonymous complaints by co-workers. Which is hilarious because it can only be Miss Huang.

He got angry after realizing he’d shared all his plans against Lumon with someone he thought was Helly—and now he still can’t tell if he’s really talking to Helly or just Helena. He feels powerless. None of this has anything to do with reintegration as you guys keep saying. He clocked out 6 minutes early because of those strange flash visions, and the innie doesn’t have a clue what they’re about. And if you missed it, at the end of the last episode, Irv told Dylan "Hang in there!"—code for "look for the poster."
