So a few things, first off batman and catwoman did have a daughter named helena wayne, but then the multiverse reset and while she was still batman and catwomans daughter, she wasnt main universe batman and catwomans daughter anymore, but that means they had a kid about 20 years before damien even appeared in a comic. now as for adult damien, in comics rn he is like 15, he was only introduced in 2007 so 17 years ago, which may sound like alot, but consider that dick was introduced 84 years ago in 1940

#SundayRundown Executives back in the day would assume that people would be confused by how many Robins there were (I see their point to a certain extent) and just chose Dick because he was the first I mean look at how long it took to get a Red Hood animated movie or Cassandra Cage being adapted on TV despite their comics being decades old.

You guys were angry at Hotdog at the start, I don't think he caused Starbuck's crash, and without him it would have been 8 cylons against Starbuck. He was also able to point to the general area where they lost contact with Starbuck for the search, and he got some kills in.
I think this episode shows that Starbuck is the best pilot. Oh, Suraj mentioned that at the end as I'm typing this. She's better than Lee, and Lee is a really great pilot. But Starbuck makes Lee look like crap by comparison.

In the original story Talia didn’t rape bruce it was Morrison who made that retcon. Grant Morrison admitted to remembering the original conception of Damian wrong and regrets retconning it so that it was non consensual. That’s why everybody wants to forget about it and move on, because that really was a terrible depiction of Talia.
Classic comics - consensual
Grant Morrison - drugged
New 52 - consensual
WB Animation films - drugged

#SundayRundown Long Post alert for my boy Tim Drake. The comics introducing Tim are some of the best as it shows that after losing Jason Todd, Batman was really struggling mentally and out on the field as he would take hits more often and would make alot of mistakes. Tim who was a Batman fan and followed him on the news would notice this and knew something was wrong while I wont go into all the details I love that these comics did a deep dive on why Robin is such an integral part of Batman and how it affects him.
Tim knows that Batman needs a Robin and first goes to Nightwing to have him come back to help but Nightwing is too busy in his own city and Tim reluctantly becomes Robin to help Batman despite Bruce protesting this multiple times at first after what happened to Jason, but Tim wears him down and eventually convinces him.
"Dick saw being Robin as a thrill. It's probably why he outgrew it. Jason saw being Robin as a game. It's probably what got him killed. But Tim, I have to hand it to the boy... he wants to be the world's greatest detective. And from what I've seen so far... he will be someday." -Batman #617 Variant Comics
Jason always struggled with his anger, abandonment, and trust issues. Dick always compared himself with Bruce in a very unhealthy way and grew resentful toward him. Tim was always just chillin...being himself. With the Batclan, Teen Titans, and Young Justice he's always struggling to best himself as a leader.
He had no dark backstory like the others, he became Robin because he simply wanted to. I honestly believe if there was a proper adaptation of him he would be your guys favourite or at worst second best. Some of the iconic things people associate with Robin today started first with Tim like the collapsible boa staff or the first Robin costume to have full pants on and not the underwear he used to wear. Suraj (I think it was you or Chris correct me if I'm wrong) you said you liked it whenever Ras would call Batman detective as a sign of respect well Tim is the only other person to called that as well by Ras. I think what really sets him apart is that besides being Robin he has a relatively normal life with school, family and relationships outside of the bat family there some people who compare him a bit to Peter Parker in that sense.
So, essentially
Dick Greyson is arguably the most similar out of the three first Robins. Dick had his family killed in a similar manner and Batman helped him take his revenge but ultimately thought him to use favour justice over it, much like him. However, the thing about Dick that separates him is that he got over revenge, and sought justice out of responsibility, which lead him a very different path than Bruce. Dick realized this and separated himself from the idea of Batman. Robin belonged by Batman's side; Nightwing didn't.
Jason Todd is the polar opposite. He owed nothing to justice and was driven by not vengeance but injustice, unfairness, and locked away emotions. He was driven by the pleasure of being the thrill, playing Robin like a game, as Batman mentioned in the Hush comic. Unlike Dick or Bruce, becoming a vigilante wasn't a reaction to tragedy but an expression. It was when he started expressing too much "getting his head in the game" so to speak, that he made the mistakes that Batman berated him for, causing it to spiral to his death. When he came back as Red Hood, in spite of becoming a killer, it was the closest thing to Batman he has ever been. It wasn't just an expression, he was now motivated by pain and revenge rather than it simply being an expression of the injustices that he felt.
Tim Drake, however, did it out of responsibility. It wasn't motivated by vengeance, nor any wish to release something upon the world for pleasure. He did this out of nobility. He did it because it was right. He is arguably the most noble out of the Robins because of this. He simply wished to help and I think that speaks more than a lot about his character. Since Tim is the best Robin in terms of detective work and intelligence his comics are honestly very fun and leans into that more detective side that we see from Batman now and then. What I think will really you interest is that in one of the first teen titans comics it was Tim who was leading them but because of the show alot people automatically assume that it was Dick Grayson who was first honesty alot of those first teen titan comics were used as inspiration for young justice and I highly recommend them.
While I love the Batman and Talia relationship they can never seem to keep their relationship because of differing viewpoints and various other circumstances with Selina that relationship is more natural and eventually they do get married and have a kid together by the way there are comics out there that show that Selina and Damian actually have a good relationship despite not being his actual mother.
I won't go too in-depth with Damain as there are still some stories you guys will see him in but people who hate Damien fail to realize that this kid grew up in a world of violence and death. For most of his childhood that’s all he knew, and on top of that both his mother and grandfather told him that he would be future leader of humanity. It’s no wonder why he was so arrogant being in that kind of environment. That’s why what Batman says in this movie is so powerful.
‘How can you hope to lead humanity if you’ve never been a part of it?’
Damien has all this training and grooming to turn him into the perfect warrior/leader, but he fails at being a leader because he’s been denied his humanity and empathy. You can’t hope to be a great leader if you’re incapable connecting with people. Random fun fact Damian is James Gunns favourite Robin.
As mentioned multiple times here already, in the original comic it was consensual but was retconned because as the author admitted it he remembered it wrong.
The League being called the League of Shadows and Batman being trained by Ras is a unique Nolan thing.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk feel free to correct any mistakes on my part.

I always hated Tim Drake and never sympathized with his home life as much as Grayson and Todd. Didn't help he supposed to the be the lady man's Robin. And Zee's right other than a Batman Beyond movie appearance. Nothing to write home about.
I remember chants for his girlfriend Stephanie to be the permanent Robin and kill off both Tim and Damien.
Too bad because the best Batman graphic novel outside of the Dark Knight Returns is Battle for the Crowl. They all shined in that. And Bruce isn't really in it. 🤣

Yep. From a comic reader perspective it is a little funny in a good way how the animation saved the characters. I remember when Superboy and any Robin not named Dick Grayson was hated. But Superboy and Damien were absolutely hated because how they came into the world. Two of the most controversial topics at the times in the 90s and 2000s.
Cloning without permission and date rape. Comics were in bad shape laying off people, trying to fight off Disney and they were desperately throwing anything against the wall to drum up sales.😥

#Sunday Rundown Son of Batman
Please do not sugarcoat it. It has always been explained in comics that she did in fact date rape Bruce. In the comics in the 2000s Bruce outrighted accused her of it. Dick Grayson was outraged (it is part of the reason why he, Selena and at first Alfred were mad about Damien being pushed on Bruce. And why they hate Talia).
Bruce wanted no part of Damien but it was Alfred that talked him into it and reminded Bruce how he took care of him.
This was the primary reason why Damien was hated by the fanbase when first introduced. Various groups were also upset that writers turned Talia into a "rapist"
Since society wasn't and apparently by your takes are still not ready to admit that yes women can rape men. Writers has since made it seem like Bruce was aware and didn't mind but that was not how it was first introduced in the comics. And it was very controversial. Post Final Crisis.
And Surge Protector. The Batman TAS. It's the same mad scientist. Dr. Langstrom and his Man Bats. Good catch. I believe both his wife and daughter Rebecca were in that episode as well. Been a long time.

SundayRundown#Son of Batman
I’m really glad you enjoyed this one it’s i personally haven’t met a single person that didn’t like it but for some history Damien had a very mixed reception with his introduction into the DC being the first biological son of Batman people got dramatic and thought writers were trying to push he’s other adopted sons (prior robins) out the picture but over the years he’s gotten a lot larger fan base but defo got a lot of hate at the start from previous robin fan boys but personally my favourite robin just saying.
For suraj there is definitely comics where Damien is a young Adult in possible different futures like him taking over as Batman in some and him taking over as Ra’s in the same universe as Terry McGinnis Batman beyond is technically canon and they met and fight each other and Old Bruce has to intervene. But right now in current dc comics he’s still only a teenage and in this film he’s specifically 10 yrs old
A few answers to other questions a lot of them depend on who’s writing what story but Originally Talia did drug Bruce when they conceived Damien but then it was retconned that it was consensual but he obviously didn’t know about the pregnancy but comics change so much so at this point who knows and wether or not it was Ra’s plan or Talia’s sometimes he want her to have a baby because he’s the best fit for her biological and because he’s “FRICKING BATMAN”and others she does because she genuinely loves him

#SundayRaaandown: Son Of Batman
Great reaction, knew you guys would like Damien. Lol, Suraj insulting a character that he doesn’t know much about part 1,347 😭😭🤦🏾♂️
Tim Drake is seen as the smartest of the Robins (even Bruce at time) and the best overall detective of the main 5, making him the closest to Bruce in that aspect. When Damien was introduced in became Robin, Tim took on being ‘Red Robin’ out of reverence for the mantel & for Jason Todd/Red Hood. All the Robins, Dick, Jason, Tim, Stephanie & Damien are special in their own way and represent different qualities in Bruce/Batman. Btw Talia definitely date r***s Bruce.

#SundayRundown - Suraj please get a mop, you’re spilling CAP all over this Reaction. Tim Drake is one of the BEST Robins because he is literally the FUCKIN GOAT. He’s the most intelligent and most empathetic of the Robins: At Age 9, he singlehandedly figured out Batman’s and Robin’s Secret Identity and sought out Bruce to become Robin because he not only wanted to fight for justice, he saw Batman was crashin out after Jason’s death and needed someone by his side. He has the best relationship with all members of the Bat Family and stays out of any drama with his mentor, predecessors or successors. He’s a bisexual, intelligent, unproblematic king who’s all about handling business and we love that for him. Also, he does create a new persona like all the other Robins, and became Red Robin in honor of Jason Todd’s memory after his death.

#SundayRundown Son of Batman. I personally didn't like this movie, but for reasons that have to do with the comic it's based on, especially the aftermath of how it treats Talia.
Also some trivia:
-Despite the number of women we see him with, according to DC Bruce has only had sex with a handful
-Slade lost his eye when his ex-wife shot him in the face, he has zero beef with the Batfamily.
-Damien never became Robin till Dick was Batman. -Bruce never trained with Ra's, that's a movie invention.
-Damien originally was conceived in the 80s in Son of the Demon, but the story ends with Talia faking a miscarriage and giving him for adoption but that got retconned in the 2000s because Grant Morrison forgot.
-When he debuted, Damian was extremely hated because he was Batman's biological son and was seen as basically invalidating Bruce's relationships with the adopted ones
