2024-12-27 08:22:39 +0000 UTC#BLEACH SUNDAYRUNDOWN You know as much ish as y'all get for your memories I'm glad you caught the fact the Letz Stil was what Uryu used back in the Soul Society arc. Among some other things. Other reactors also forget a lot of stuff to the point we have to keep commenting stuff they forgot or didn't pick up on. Bleach tends to lean heavy into the nuance and subtleties a lot more than other anime so It's completely understandable you won't remember everything with one viewing but that's what us comments are for. I also LOVE and respect the fact y'all do these Sunday Rundown videos to connect with the audience while understanding the media you are currently watching even more, no other reactors do this. TYBW has a ton of subtle writing, lots of exciting reveals and foreshadowing coming. Some you'll understand and others you won't even remember being foreshadowed. My advice is to just make sure you pay attention, stuff like visuals, something in the background and even words have foreshadowing that you might not catch onto, but the comments will explain it so don't overthink it too much and miss the episode

There’s practically no plot armor going forward and as I’m sure you’re aware by now, there will be deaths. This is the last arc so ig Kubo decided that plot armor was unnecessary. Kira is dead and if an injury looks like death then it’s safe to assume that it is.

The other comments have mostly said anything i'd want to say, but one thing i do want to bring attention too that you seem to have not noticed - Quincies are just humans with, well, Quincy powers. But this also means they have a similar life span to humans. However, as mentioned by Mayuri, Yhwach and Yamamoto fought a thousand years ago. How is it that Yhwach, a Quincy, has lived that long? Food for thought. Also yeah Mayuri straight up murdered 28k people. They're dead. Which is an insane amount. Pretty fucked up, but it's Mayuri, and whenever he's involved in something, it being fucked up is just a given.

In the Arrancar arc, we see that Ayon is able to defeat lieutenant Soul Reapers with ease, and Yamamoto had to step in himself to stop Ayon (admittedly with ease). Now we see a Quincy defeat Ayon and the trio of Arrancars. Right away you can tell that high level Quincys are around Captain level. We will find out more as we go along about individual Quincy and Soul Reaper captains in terms of powerscaling.

2024-12-26 01:29:11 +0000 UTCI actually hadn't caught that, but there is a kinda logic that can refute it. I don't know if it has ever been flushed out so fully, but they touched on it in discussion. We don't really know if the reincarnation cycle is really immediate 1 for 1 (as in one leaves Soul Society > baby born in the living world). It could be that those souls are no longer in the Soul Society but are in the Dangai (or just somewhere else) kinda waiting for that number of people to eventually be born. That could maintain the balance but still the damage remains done if those souls are finite and more are never produced. I'm not fluent, but when speaking to Yamamoto in Japanese I don't hear Mayuri use a word I understand in the realm of "destroy" and the subtitles do say "expunge", so I think theres a chance this is the case. Could very well be wrong and welcome any counter point/source (without spoiling the Normies) if known

Given that he no longer had to do that since the anime was put on the backburner for 10 years, we essentially got TYBW.

Yes there is more blood in certain scenes, but it's not like the manga is a gore-fest. TYBW was shocking by "BLEACH" standards when it was first published. Kira's death alone was a signal to the readers that "S***'s about to go DOWN this time! We ain't playin' no more." Just trying to set expectations for if you decide to read the manga. It certainly goes further than the first anime, generally speaking, but TYBW was built different BACK THEN as well.

The purpose of the conversion is to allow them to move as souls without leaving the body and having to trail a chain of fate connecting their souls and body

Their human body’s are back in Urahara’s shop so that’s why Quilgie’s absorption of reishi is affecting them as well as the surrounding area because everything in Hueco Munro from the sand to living being are made up of reishi.

This is actually where we see Rukia and Renji for the first time in this arc. Kira (R.I.P) has a nice moment here where he actually comes up with a theory regarding the missing Rukongai citizens. He asks the Lieutenants if any of their squads investigated any areas outside of Rukon District 50 and what type of footprints they found. Yachiru answers that Ikkaku and Yumichika found a mix of bare-feet and sandal footprints. Kira said that that seems impossible because the standards of living drastically drop beyond district 50 and in the last 550 years no one outside District 59 wore sandals at all. Ikkaku and Yumichika visited District 64, therefore the sandals must have belonged to Soul Reapers. He then speculates that Captain Kurotsuchi is hiding something from them to which Nemu responds that she knows nothing. He goes on to report this to Yamamoto. That's why Yamamoto calls in Mayuri for questioning.

They can do it in their vollstandig form, as everything is made up of reishi. The sternritter are not like the fracciones. They are Yuha Bach's main soldiers. In fact, they are above the Espada IMO. They are the real deal. Note: Every episode is titled after a relative manga chapter title. The order/timeline of some of the events and sequences that happen in the manga have been restructured in the anime, and many comedic relief spots have been left out from the anime. Some characters now have their manga-accurate appearance such as Sasakibe's no-pupil eyes, Rangiku's dirty-blonde hair, and Nel's green hair. Refresher about a couple philosophies you guys brought up: Hisagi - One who isn't afraid of battle or wielding a sword doesn't deserve to wield one at all. Kira - Squad 3's flower emblem is a marigold representing despair. War isn't glorious. It's full of pain and despair.

It is the opposite of Squad 11 who view war as something full of Glory, Triumph and Bloodlust. Hisagi says that his Kazeshini's windmill scythes are shaped like the Grim Reaper's scythe, designed to kill and reap souls. He does NOT like that. His and Tosen's philosophy is that one must be afraid of their own weapon in order to be worthy of wielding it, for if you are not afraid of what your weapon is capable of, the weapon controls you rather than you controlling your weapon.

I think it’s safe to assume Ayon was low Espada level considering he took out 4 lieutenants one after another with ease which explains how he can pummel someone like Quilge before being absorbed. I can’t imagine even Rukia and Renji would’ve won against Ayon back then given his insane speed, power, and resilience. The reason they could recreate him again is because Orihime recovered their left arms back. Kubo confirmed that if hypothetically Orihime kept healing them and depending on their tolerance to pain and recovery, they could create more Ayons.

2024-12-25 16:19:00 +0000 UTC#SundayRundown Bleach “Vollständig/Voll Stern Dich” is a Quincy’s Complete/Full Holy Form and is their equivalent to Bankai, and for Quilge his is known as Piskiel, which translate to “Justice of God” It is an upgraded and evolutionized Quincy State from “Letzt Stil” which translates to Last style/final form that Uryu and his father still use with the Quincy glove that Uryu used against Mayuri back in soul society which Quilge referred to as “a relic of the past” from 200 years ago when the Quincys seemingly went extinct. That glove was meant as a restraint from them absorbing Spirit particles (Reishi) to uncontrollably give them more power, which now they can freely control thanks to Vollständig. Wandenriech = invisible Empire and Stern Ritter = Star Knight. Sidenote: Quilge’s voice actor also voices Beerus.

I like that Bleach has its own post too, we've siphoned comments to this series like how Quilge absorbed reishi in this episode. Oh, and major shock that Rana swooned instantly as she saw Haschwalth, I made a prediction in the discord over who your favourite new characters would be and hers was the most obvious. Kubo has specifically mentioned that he drew Haschwalth to be a thirst trap, my words not his. Looking forward to see if I'm correct on the rest of your new faves. As for this episode, a lot has happened, be used to that. This adaptation paces itself so well because it has so much to work with, the beauty of adapting a manga that is no longer in serialization. You've heard even more of the soundtrack and again, I'm heeding all plaudits to Shiro Sagisu, the man is a genius and his 2nd TYBW soundtrack was recently released. You've got some incredible music ahead of you. One that I want to highlight in this episode was the riff that you heard around 7 minutes in, this is called 'On the precipice - post grunge' and is one of many variations of the original anime soundtrack. Something that has always perplexed me, ever since I originally watched the Soul Society arc as a kid, was the fact that Uryu, and by extension Quincies, seem to be in their element there. It's no surprise that Mayuri had warned about something like this happening, it's a massive weakness. Since they can obtain an ability that subordinates reishi, and as Uryu mentioned, every part of the Seireitei is composed of reishi, it leads them to be incredibly vulnerable to a Quincy invasion. I had assumed that the Quincies lost because, like Uryu and as Urahara originally explained, they were humans who could see spirits and wanted an alternate means of defeating hollows. It appears this was incredibly reductive, and we are seeing Soul Reapers get completely slumped after resting on their laurels for a thousand years, while the Quincies have been plotting ways to defeat them, forget surviving, it appears they were thriving, and have devised a way to render Bankai to be obsolete. And we thought Aizen was a planner, noticed how they designated Ichigo to be a "Special Threat" and immediately headed to invade as he was distracted. Even with the prep time, we saw Kira get taken out immediately, they are simply not built to withstand these attacks now.

This form is supposed to represent an archangel, with the bells and angelic design; and as Quilge said, his form is supposed to look creepy to sinners, in this case the soul reapers. Also, his power Sklaverei is a technique all Quincy can use but only he can use it to the extent of absorbing other beings made of reishi, as confirmed by Kubo in an interview. The name of his Holly form is Piskiel aka “Justice of God”. And as I mention in a previous post, I heavily recommend that you do not get too far ahead of us in the reactions. Because certain episodes and scenes will require heavy explanation on our part to fully understand, and at this rate you’ll be 6 episodes ahead of us so anything we write will become kind of pointless. I’m not saying to do double drops per week but you could watch 2 episodes a week, skip one week and watch 2 again, that way we can catch up and the gap doesn’t get any higher but that’s for you guys to consider.
