2024-10-27 01:21:21 +0000 UTCI don't think "Sayonara" in general is specifically a permanent "goodbye" per se, but at least implies this could be the last time you see each other because you aren't a regular part of eachothers lives or just straight up not planning to. That's why you'll more hear "Jya ne" (slangish like "see you") or "Matta Ashita" (literally "again tomorrow", espescially among friends. Also while I can't think of an immediate title of anime that really leans into it the way this likely will what you're calling "God Territories" IRL is a common thing in Japan (and probably a lot of Asian cultures) we know as "local dieties". As the name implies they are Gods more known and worshipped in small areas as opposed to Christianty or Islam
