Hey all!

Mr. MegaloDEV here.

We continue to stay steady here which is awesome as we’ve been ramping up 2D art production and taking care of some more character designs, but uh I’ll save that for the 2D art section.

Current Goal: Increasing the 2D art output. ($2,000/mo)

Oooey GUI

Last time I showed you some mockups for the Title screen and dialogue window. They are now mostly implemented in-game! I am encountering some bugs with the dialogue window graphics which If I can’t solve by 0.2.25’s release we’ll just roll with a secondary fallback GUI (That’s still new to you!)

The fallback GUI is not quite as cool as our mockup but it is still nice to have as it lets us make the rest of the game’s GUI match the theme as we roll out updates for each menu.

On that note we also have a new mockup to show you!

I’m thinking about rolling with the follow for the stat icons though:

2D Art

The 2D art pipeline continues ever strong. As officially announced in the last devlog we have additional hands on deck helping Nut with complex variations we have done for the game’s CGs. I think we average around 8-12 expressions on Emma alone each CG haha.



As stated in the intro we’ve also been cooking in the Character Design area again too. This time it’s an enemy you fight in the game!

New Town Square Map

Yup, as teased in our discord a few times we are finishing up the next iteration of our “townsquare” map! You’ll be able to explore this during 0.2.25 RC! 

Over the coming months this new tileset design will roll out to older and newer maps as well. Although after the Golden Barrel interior rework we will be focusing on new maps first and foremost.

Story, Dialogue, Lore and Sprites

As stated previously (I think in discord?) the RC has actually been “story complete” for a bit now. I've been mainly working on new features, polish and QoL stuff. I’m pretty sure nearly every single scene in the game post-Church wakeup (with exception to H-scenes) has been reviewed to some capacity.

There has been some major work done particularly to the day 2 Barmaid shift, General Store Storyline, Blacksmith Storyline and Golden Barrel Storylines as well as the cursed realm progression.

Speaking of curses I’ve also solved a somewhat major issue in how a “pure” Emma will progress through the cursed realm without… you know…
TENEBRIUM! (You’ll learn what the hell that is from the updated Hermit day 7 visit.)

No more “Omnimancer” either. I’ve changed that name to something else which I think is more representative of what players will see from Emma. Omnimancers will still exist in-lore though.
(Ignore the fact that the GUI mockup above still says Omnimancer.)

Also here are the hero party bois battle sprites! No more balding Garland!!

Closing Thoughts and Release Date
