Dev Diary #18
Added 2016-11-07 17:59:29 +0000 UTCHey guys,
Had more family things to attend to on Saturday, but Vahn and I found some time to work yesterday.
Since Crimson's sweeping optimisations and the overhaul of the UI, it's been a bit slow putting the new UI together as well as patching up the back-end, since with the new systems a few areas were left nonfunctional. Happily I can say that we now have the battles functional again with the new UI. Work from this point on will be adding new things rather than (drastically) improving existing things.
The response to the short stories has been very positive as well as very flattering, thank you everyone for the kind words. :) Compared to drawing, I feel my writing is a very new and under-developed skill, so that feedback means a lot.
The next point of lore I'd like to write about is Sunrest City, perhaps in the form of a story centered around Detective Ford and his subordinates. It'd certainly be more advanced in terms of character storytelling, so chances are it'll be a bit longer than the others so far.
The more I reflect upon it, the more I begin to (almost) appreciate the obstacles we've faced during development. We continue to move forward as much as humanly possible, but those delays have allowed me more time to consider the world and build on it both in my mind and on paper. I think it's safe to say that the game, once it's out, will be a better game for all the lore groundwork I'm able to lay down. Thank you everyone for your support and keeping us going.
Until next time!
