2022-11-07 22:44:18 +0000 UTCThinking about it, this arc equates to Andor in that it's a slow burn. Not a whole lot happens as it sets up the final episode, but once you're there, it's fun and enjoyable.

2022-11-05 05:22:20 +0000 UTCSo, droids aren't programmed with any personality, but they develop them if their memory isn't wiped regularly. I think the normal wipe schedule is every 3 months and R2 hasn't had his wiped in at least 12 years at this point. A fun note about the R2 model is they were not only the most customizable model, but their flexible programming made them notorious for developing stubborn personalities if left unchecked.

This is one of the most solid arcs in TCW, and it has no hype at all, just great story telling and animation. It stands on it's own, without the need for "Star Wars". Something that not much can do these days. It's rare that a 20 minute long animated show that started out for children can push an arc as good as this one. If you feel dread in this story, it's because the story made you feel that with it's setting, writing, acting, and animation. The same way Jack Gleeson made you hate Joffery in GoT because he's a stellar actor is exactly what Filoni and the rest of the TCW crew put into this arc. On the outside it's a piece of shit... "like holy hell man it's season 5 and we're doing a droid / worm episode??? WHERES MAUL???", but on the inside, when you realize it, this arc is a gem of accomplishment. It really makes you feel something.

The people who skipped this arc or other episodes in the series, won't know who certain characters are down the line. It's almost like they are telling the audience "good things come to those who are patient", lol.
