She let her pettiness blind her from Larys' manipulations and now she found herself trapped in a hole of her own doing. Alicent complains about Rhaenyra lack of decency and integrity because she has illegitimate children. And yet Leanor recognizes those children as his own, and Vicerys recognizes them as his grandchildren. So Alicent has no claim here. Also where was her decency and integrity when she found herself to be an accomplice of the double murder of the hand of the king and the commander of the city watch. Lord Lyonel Strong and his son Harwin were two very righteous and upstanding men who deserved better. Lyonel was a loyal and honest master of laws and hand of the king. Then there is the idiot Criston Cole, who is still feeling petty after 10 years. He calls Rhaenyra a spoiled cunt, but he is the one throwing a tantrum. He is a grown man who is taking his frustrations out on Rhaenyra's children because he can't accept the fact that she chose her duty and legacy over him. (Seriously man, move on!) Moreover, let's not forget that the last time Criston took his frustrations out on someone, they died (RIP Joffrey Lonmouth). Harwin saw that Criston was trying to harm Jacaerys, and he did what any man and father would do, protect his children, that's why he defended Jacaerys.
