2022-09-05 03:57:06 +0000 UTCi think the interesting thing about xander and cordilia, is xander wnats more of a real relationship and has even voiced it, but cordilia wont do that, so xander talks about willow and buffy, but now we see cordilia may want more of a relationship, but doesnt want to admit it, so shes getting more fraustrated when xander talks about buffy or willlow, basically they are both being dumb teenagers

2022-09-02 11:15:10 +0000 UTCAgree, there were some really fun and longer discussions about themes and storytelling in general when they did the later Bojack seasons and The Boys, even breakdowns of what character decisions mean This show is handing out metaphor after metaphor about how growing up is hell and Angel’s turn is my favorite. Sleeping with your boyfriend and waking up the next day to find he’s become a huge asshole who doesn’t care about you anymore and seeing how deeply this affects Buffy who over the course of the last two season has really been able to feel safe and bond with Angel more than anyone else because of how much her destiny isolates and scares her. I wouldn’t be frustrated if I didn’t know that they had had more thought out and deep dive discussions before (they had a great one for “Ted”). I don’t expect them to be like the channel Semblance of Sanity who have deep dive 30 minute discussions every time they watch something, but it’s just frustrating when big moments happen and they don’t seem to especially digest or talk about their meaning and ramifications Shout out Marketa

2022-09-02 10:49:30 +0000 UTCI was somewhat disappointed that you didn’t acknowledge the importance of what happened in the last episode. There was a general dismissive attitude about it. Maybe because you just watched it and didn’t have time to digest it properly. The curse is actually the perfect punishment for a vampire as explained by Angel himself last season. Instead of killing him, they force a soul on him so that he would live forever with the remorse of what he has done. What happened with Buffy was never supposed to happen, exactly because of that. Angel was never supposed to ever feel a sliver of happiness because of the weight of his guilt for all the horrors he is responsible for. And it wasn’t “stupid”, it worked for almost a hundred year that we know of. Of course it means, as someone else pointed out that you can’t divide Angel from Angelus. Contrary to what Chris said, once the soul was forced on Angelus, the demon didn’t leave. The twisted tragic irony is the fact that if he didn’t have soul, he would have never been in the position to be close to Buffy and fall in love with her. The thing that should have prevent him from ever feel happiness is the reason why he was able to feel it. About the revelation in this episode, Geordi is not Oz’s uncle, he is his cousin. You were effectively fooled by Larry obvious red herring and didn’t catch Oz saying he was bitten by his cousin who just got his grownup teeth. One of my favorite quote: Giles “let’s not jump to conclusions” Buffy “I didn’t jump, I took a tiny step and there conclusions were.”

2022-09-02 01:48:13 +0000 UTCthe demon is always present in Angel, it's just the soul allows Angel (soul) to control Angelus (demon) as much as he can, The urges are still there but since he has a conscience when the soul is present, he does not follow though on them. It's a constant internal struggle for Angel to keep the evil of Angelous at bay.

That way, either he gets killed or he gets re-souled and gets swamped by the guilt of the all the recent crimes too.
