For HotD, I feel like Otto is a man dedicated to his House, like Tywin in many ways, But he's also sneaky like Littlefinger. I think he fully intended to die at Dragonstone, his death ensuring Viserys marries Alicent in his honor. He manipulated Viserys expertly. One of you was like "I wonder how he's going to play it subtly without being direct about the proposal" literally RIGHT after his play lmao the way he worded the marriage to Lady Laena. "I dearly loved my lady wife. The pain of her passing still haunts me. And to be compelled to...replace her for duty's sake....you are the King, but I do not envy you." He got him. Masterful. I mean I can sit here and deconstruct how he inceptioned him here in two ways, hell the look Viserys gives him, I think he KNOWS that Otto wants him to marry Alicent and his angle, but it will take a few more paragraphs to write that may not even be seen and I'm too lazy lol but I'm sure ya'll can figure it out.
