They had 10 orbs to use for the scene and the first 9 times it worked as intended. However, on the last one, John Krasinski accidentally hit the seam when he stabbed the orb with the scissor’s and it popped immediately. That’s the take they used in the episode so all of the reactions at the end of the scene were completely genuine.
