They were literally soldiers pointing their guns at them. Do you not understand war?

2022-05-19 02:18:44 +0000 UTCWell they reacted to Cowboy Bebop too which is older than both this and Naruto. But that is also an exception as it was a godlike dub in the 90s (still is). But yeah that's why Nunnally's voice is weird af in dub. In Japanese, the voices for sweet, innocent characters seem to be more "natural" for them than in English, especially since, as you said, they're literally trying to match the Japanese voice's cadence and tones. Nowadays English dub voices for those types of characters are more natural to the English language rather than trying to imitate the Japanese voices.

2022-05-19 01:12:24 +0000 UTCIt's weird they're not okay with Zero making the enemy kill themselves but praise Kallen's ability to blow people up.

2022-05-19 01:00:31 +0000 UTCI've always assumed that old anime budgets are the reason you end up with dubs like Nunnally, some 40+ year old woman trying to baby voice her way through it.

2022-05-18 23:33:48 +0000 UTCEuphemia's dub voice was much worse than Nunnully's voice for me. I'm glad she's dead.

2022-05-18 23:30:32 +0000 UTCThe films are indeed a separate thing from the show. Here are some lines from the wiki to explain. The film takes place in an alternate universe that was first depicted in the three-part compilation film: Initiation, Transgression, and Glorification, which was released between 2017 and 2018. The film serves as a direct sequel to the events of the three-part film. The three-part film is a compilation of the television series, but with differences in storylines that makes it a separate continuity,[5] and setting up for the sequel film, Code Geass Lelouch of the Re;surrection, which was released in 2019

2022-05-18 23:13:59 +0000 UTCNormies: "there's some things I don't agree with man" "Yea like making people suicide themselves just cause they're in your way" For every Japanese has to be a Britannian who probably has kills under he or shes belt it is the way Lol

2022-05-18 21:27:15 +0000 UTCDashokeypokey they are canon because it’s only 1 movie and the original author worked on the movie

2022-05-18 21:05:24 +0000 UTCAs far as voice acting goes one thing to point out is that when casting these roles they often tend to try to somewhat match the tone and cadence of the japanese. This is way more apparent the farther back you go with anime dubs, and leads to some as you say atrocious voices. Oddly other than Naruto I think this may be the oldest one you've reacted to and even in Naruto you've probably noticed improvements over the years

2022-05-18 20:41:51 +0000 UTCNo it isn't, the movies follow the alternate universe movie timeline and are not canon the the show.
