i like the way this show deals in finality. there are so many IPs that try to please everyone without saying anything definitive about a theme or resolution and i feel like the good place knows where to put the focus to create organic endings. if y'all have a chance to check out the finale afterparty with the core cast with seth meyers, i think? i bet you would like it. not a reaction suggestion, i just think it's a very graceful exit from the world of the show back to reality. i think everyone involved was aware that this was a very great celebration and a very great loss.

Rana is really like Tahani, particularly in the next episode. I have been loving these reactions to my all time favorite show. I’m excited for The Office, but I will miss the Goodies and Nikki ❤️

Exactly. "Eternity" as a concept is actually horribly terrifying. Even what Rana is talking about here "what about all the stuff in the future that you could do?" But the thing is, the very concept of "living forever" means that you will literally have time to do every single thing that you could ever possibly do an infinite number of times over, in a finite number of different variations and permutations. Absolutely any possible thing you could ever do will get boring after enough repetition of it, no matter what it is. It could take thousands of years maybe, but I think literally any person to ever exist WOULD eventually get sick of it. The question is just what someone's threshold is....not that it matters anyway since we will literally never get to the point where it will matter anyway. :p I guess the only exception maybe would be if you got a true memory wipe. In other words, if every thing you experienced you would experience "for the first time" every time. But even then...what kind of existence would that be? Just hollow.

I honestly think that anybody who thinks they want to live/exist forever just does not understand the scope of "forever." The human mind just isn't very good at understanding infinity. If you said you wanted to live for a thousand years? Sure. A hundred thousand years? I guess. A billion years? Highly doubtful, but ok. Forever? No, I don't believe it.

And then the final twist hits, forever is too much, individual desires and wants are not enough to sustain us forever. Love and friendship while eternal are not enough, at some point an end must come to us all. and now there is nothing left to do but say good bye and move on. It’s a melancholy note to leave it on but it rings true.
