2022-02-04 22:19:50 +0000 UTCIf you recall the episodes where R2 was missing, and was temporarily replaced with the spy, "Goldie", Anakin clearly has an attachment to R2, but Ahsoka also brought up the valid point that R2's memory and data enabled him to execute commands quicker, act independently when needed, and has "come in handy" R2 is as competent as he is because his lack of memory erasing led to a more developed personality and experience in many situations. On the other hand, R2's memories were deemed dangerous and valuable enough to warrant the council allowing Anakin to drop other priorities and retrieve him, shown here that it is extraordinary dangerous to lose. What Anakin's mistakes are, regarding R2 at least, is trusting him to be watched by 3P0, and generally being un guarded when he's not there
