In order for them to have a volleyball club at this high school, they need a faculty member to oversee their activities. Because he is the faculty member affiliated with the school, he also gets the head coach position by default, even though he knows nothing about the technical aspects of volleyball. That's why they called him out as the coach over the loudspeaker at the start of this game. His main job at the school is a teacher of literature. Shimizu Kiyoko is the student manager of the Karasuno volleyball club. She's responsible for a lot of the logistical support that the team needs - helping with schedules, research, event setup, etc. She recruited Yachi Hitoka to take over that position once she's graduated. Ukai Keishin is the practical coach for the team. He's not a faculty member at the school (his job is as a store clerk), which is why he's not announced as the coach before the game, but he has the technical knowledge to actually help the boys with their training.
