The Office is for people that like their art with something meaningful to say. Parks was great, but it's safe and spoon feeds the audience good feelings, like Wes Anderson. The Office is real, uncomfortable, and paints a dark picture of humanity, like the Coen brothers, at least for the first 6 seasons. It's just better overall, but lots of people don't like it. My wife hates it.
