Yuji is one of the most well written and complex MC out there, his struggles aren't as simple as losing a fight or not being strong enough but rather loneliness, morality, etc. Growing out of his "hero complex" is literally part of his development. He's a well grounded and realistic MC who doesn't try to impose his morals onto other but rather listens to their situation and tries to understand where they are coming from and his lowkey Psycho personality reminds me of Gon, which is just icing on top of everything.

I'm not very active in the anime community nowadays, but are people really saying Tanjiro's is somehow different from his peers? I've always felt it was a really bad argument when someone calls a shounen battle main character generic when stacking him or her up against another main character. Majority (if not all) shounen battle main characters are generic, that's kinda the point lol. Like Yuji, Tanjiro is in no way the anomaly. Other than that, i don't really have an issue with anything else you said Ginzo. I disagree with just about everything 😂 i just don't have an issue with it.

2021-10-25 17:23:45 +0000 UTCI also agree with Steffen. I just don't feel anything about JJK's main character. He just seems like generic strong anime protagonist. He even starts off with unexplained super human strength and I'm not sure if they'll ever explain it. I also didn't find the Todo guy to be funny, just cringe. I can't tell if the scenes Todo are in are suppose to be funny or serious. With Demon Slayer, I'm able to sympathize with Tanjiro's struggle. Jujutsu Kaisen in general is really heavily handed with the anime cliches. Not that Demon Slayer isn't, but Demon Slayer is much more approachable to none anime fans. The Mugen Train arc and the story in general is heart warming and you don't have to be a fan of anime to appreciate it. That's one of the biggest reasons why Demon Slayer Mugen Train is the best selling Japanese movie release of all time. I basically only watch JJK because of Gojou and the good animation, but I'm sure some would say the same about Demon Slayer.

That's completely false. In this very reaction we see just that. We can go back n forth on the Yuji or Tanjiro thing (haha I'd rather not) but like i said in my original post, JJK's entire cast is where it outclasses Demon Slayer a bit.

The unnatural (but genuine) purity to Tanjiro, especially shown in ep 4 or 5 - where he cries for his enemies lost soul - really struck a chord with me. I could fully get behind this kid who’s hard on himself and willing to risk everything to save his sister. It took much, much longer to have any empathy for Yuji in comparison.

2021-10-25 16:02:42 +0000 UTCPersonally I was hooked on demonslayer from the first episode. JJK, definitly not. You could say Tanshiro is kinda boring, but I find it refreshing to have a pure soul as a MC. JJK's MC on the other hand is really boring, and puts me off. No Motivation, no struggle.

But Demon Slayer never had a moment where i was just like "I'm hooked" JJK had multiple. An I think that has a lot to do with all it's colorful characters. Also it's artistic approach made me feel nostalgic to many of the shounen greats that came before it. It's took pieces of everything (except for maybe One Piece lol) and made it it's own.

2021-10-25 15:01:05 +0000 UTCMicky is correct. The scene we saw was Mahito feeding Kechizu's cursed womb to a random guy, who then transformed into Kechizu (the green guy). When Mahito went to the school, he stole Sukuna's fingers and 3 cursed wombs, one for each of the brothers we've met so far. So Suraj is right that the other two were "born" the same way, but the scene we actually see is with Kechizu, and happens before he arrives under the bridge to fight Itadori.
