Thank you so much for joining us on such an epic journey. We're not sure yet if we will watch The Hobbit. We have some other movie franchises we would like to start after we wrap up the Fast series and others like Back to the Future.
Which film series do you think we should visit next? We're interested in possibly visiting the Harry Potter series, Mission Impossible, The Matrix, Indiana Jones, Jurrassic Park, John Wick, etc. We will have a poll soon.
Having the same problem. Won’t play the fellowship uncut link “can’t find it”

I’d love you to do the Hobbit films one day. Sure, they’re not as good as LOTR but they have some lovely characters and locations and sequences. Your Middle Earth journey is unfinished without them. That aside, Jurassic Park, Hunger Games, Maze Runner would all be good to see.

I mean in the book yeah it’s clear the intention is for it to be tobacco and that’s definitely what they make it *sound* like in the movies. On the other hand in the scenes where we see people smoke it they definitely seem high af so it seems like the writers decided to have some fun with it and slip something past the censors so to speak.

check out "Minecraft Middle Earth" (MCME) on youtube. they've recreated middle earth in Minecraft based on the books. They say it takes 4 hours from the Shire to Mordor. Someone also plotted out footsteps of each character throughout middle earth that people can follow.

The pipe-weed in Lord of the Rings is not marijuana. It's specifically identified as Nicotiana in the prologue to LotR -- pipe tobacco, in other words. Tolkien smoked tobacco with a pipe so often it's rare to find a photograph of the man where he didn't have his pipe either in his mouth or in his hand. Tobacco pipes were as commonly used in Britain as were cigarettes in the United States in the era of the world wars and Tolkien brought it into the world of Middle-Earth as ambiance.

Just let them watch the movie without spoiling everything and giving useless trivia and talking about things before it's even happened. I've already commented on it but I simply can't help but do it again. It is soooo annoying and unnecessary. I also like how Marketa thinks Helm's Deep is a bad fortress because it's up against a mountain. Like what??? People are way too assured in their own opinions these days, especially about things they know nothing about.
Also, Viggo Mortensen is gay??? What is this guy even talking about???
Derik Knutson

You should watch the behind the scense on all the movies. They are great and really intressting. I usually don't like watching it but on this trillogy it is really good and intresting. X)

Had to see the uncut reactions to my favorite movies! Rana's enthusiasm is so relatable and Pat cracks me up every time he sees the ring and gets that "my precious" look in his eyes.
And it's so fun to see the rest of you geeking out over stuff! Love all the trivia drops and more importantly, the fact that you're having fun watching. I've seen people be critical of other reactors for not knowing certain things or not reacting the "right" way, and I hope you aren't seeing too much of that because I find it very silly. I can tell that you're enjoying yourselves and I think that's what matters most. So keep having fun and thanks for these reaction videos!
p.s. Kudos to Chris each time he tries to keep unnecessary spoilers limited ;) I see you

Boromir and Faramir’s father’s mind had been poisoned by Sauron through his use of the Palantir. Denethor had been using the seeing stone that was located in his city and Sauron had been feeding him false visions and otherwise messing with his morale. The Palantir is another thing George Martin used for A Song of Ice and Fire. Martin’s Palantirs are the Glass Candles. And in the end Frodo was too damaged to recover, which is why he left for the Undying Lands. And this was something Tolkien could relate to with all the shell shocked soldiers of World War I who never recovered.

I'm so confused. At the beginning Suraj seems to insinuate he's seen these multiple times, but he has no idea what's going on half the time and literally acts surprised by memorable scenes.... I don't get it.

2021-09-17 04:31:25 +0000 UTC
the only reason bilbo and frodo get to go to the undying lands is because they were ring bearers. which means after many decades sam does get to go when legalos leaves to there seeing his friend frodo after only a month in his time. gimili also joins since legalos and him such good friends
2021-09-17 04:30:20 +0000 UTC
Y’all gotta do the Matrix now since the new one is coming out the other movies can wait!

2021-09-16 19:19:06 +0000 UTC
Dwarves don't actually turn to stone when they die, that's just a theory that some of the other peoples (in universe) have about them, the dwarves themselves believe that they have a special place in the Halls of Awaiting (where the Elves go when they die, before they're reborn), and that they stay there after they die until the end of the world.
Nadya Coles
2021-09-14 23:44:56 +0000 UTC
So, the reason that Liv's character is special is that elves are immortal in all the senses, when they die, they respawn in special forest-lake-garden, that was long time ago part of the middle-earth, now is removed , but there are (specifically on the ships guided by a special star) ways to get there and back. Dwarfs are anomaly, and made of stone by the demi-god who got bored waiting for elves to wake up, so dwarves and elves always argue who's the first the best etc, so they return to the stone after death. Humans are the only ones' who's destiny after death is a mystery for everyone, so elves usually think about death in terms of "man, I really like this place and groomed it for thousands of years" but ultimately they meet each other, some elves have done it and returned couple of times. choosing human destiny is especially scary for them.

david soliz
2021-09-13 03:48:00 +0000 UTC
I just want to point out that Chris was right and Damarin was wrong, King Theoden of Rohan was the uncle, not father of Eowyn and Eomer. Though it's an easy mistake to make, because they call him "uncle" once or twice than never again in the trilogy, and he does act more like a father than an uncle to those two characters. Anyway, thanks for reacting to this! It was great to relive these movies again.

2021-09-12 15:27:31 +0000 UTC
Just a little side note, Frodo and Bilbo went to the Undying Lands because they were ring-bearers. Sam also went years later because he was also a ring-bearer for a short while. Only immortals and ring-bearers were allowed to live there.

I know you guys don’t usually do this…. But you should react to the behind the scenes of this whole trilogy. Hearing about some of the stuff they did while filming as what they kept filming through is amazing. Also…. I don’t think I recall anyone pointing out that Sméagol is played by Andy Serkis ON STAGE and sorta rocketed his whole career as well as the motion capture industry.

Fun fact: That actually wasnt the last boat to head to "elf heaven"! Sam after he lives a long life, Gimli and Legolas all go together years later. Legolas built his own boat and did not want to leave behind his good friends. Eventually Sam does reunite with his mr. frodo in elf heaven.
The reason that Frodo, Bilbo, and eventually Sam do go to the undying lands is because they all held the ring for periods of time. It essentially drained part of their souls, even Sams as briefly as he held it. Going to the elf lands was essentially the only way anyone who held the ring would ever find peace.

One of the greatest trilogies ever created. Now I could make a joke about how there are no POC in middle earth, LOL, but that's just the comedian in me poking fun at a cinematic masterpiece. Also, Surj Game Of Thrones was written as the opposite side of the spectrum from Lord Of the Rings. Geroge wanted to turn this type of story on its head and show what would happen when selfish and greedy people choose themselves over the bigger cause.
