"We never see Michael by himself"... The only times we do are the two earlier flashbacks in this episode, and his conversation with Shawn behind the clown-wall. And those are expertly written to be accurate to the situation and still not give anything away. Michael titling his final blueprint "THE GOOD PLACE" in quotation marks is probably one of the biggest clues, but TV series misuse quotation marks so often, I just shrugged it off.

2021-09-07 16:19:40 +0000 UTCFrom what I've seen so far, the whole point system is bullshit. 90 percent of people going to the bad place means that almost everyone doesn't make the cut. It seems to be a way too strict grading system.

2021-08-22 09:42:51 +0000 UTCIt does not matter if you do not actually care. So her points never went up everytime because her motivation was looking better than everyone

2021-08-22 09:39:26 +0000 UTCTahani's punishment was bullshit. She just wanted to be validated, but she still did a lot of good for everyone else.

2021-08-18 04:40:08 +0000 UTC... Michael making Chidi map out unknown territory in the beginning lol so hilarious in retrospect

2021-08-18 04:38:02 +0000 UTCTrevor is just another demon like Glenn and Vicky lol

2021-08-18 03:33:26 +0000 UTCI’m not sure why he was so confused about him. He’s a demon like everyone else except works in the actual bad place

2021-08-18 03:32:30 +0000 UTCSomeone on Reddit figured it out back when it was airing and there was still like 7 more episodes to go. No one agreed with him lol

2021-08-18 03:30:14 +0000 UTCThis is one of those seasons that's so great on a rewatch because you see a ton of hints and clues. Like why does the Good Place have frozen yogurt everywhere. Because humans love to take something great like ice cream and ruin it a little to have more of it. Michael kicked a (fake) dog into the sun. We never see Michael by himself because then there'd be no reason for him to pretend to be good. He needles Chidi about his dissertation. The list goes on and on...

2021-08-17 23:02:48 +0000 UTCPoor Suraj obsessing over Trevor. The dude really is from the Bad Place and was playing along just like everyone else.

2021-08-17 21:04:28 +0000 UTCI love that delightfully maniacal giggle! I love how they layer in the hints throughout the season. One of the immutable rules of television is that anyone who kicks a dog is a BAD PERSON. Knowing Michael is a demon completely transforms Ted Danson's performance on a second watch. Utterly brilliant. That man is a national treasure.

2021-08-17 20:04:59 +0000 UTCDouble drop was such a nice surprise lol. I’ve been waiting for this reveal and it was worth the wait.

2021-08-17 19:08:58 +0000 UTCMy mom figured it out, in like the second episode to, but she figures out all plot twists, she figured out the 6th Sense twist. To be honest it’s stopped being neat years ago, now it’s just annoying.

2021-08-17 18:04:32 +0000 UTCOk after season 4 then

2021-08-17 17:59:21 +0000 UTCI'll add that I don't know of anyone who truly figured it out in advance, but some have had momentary inklings, as you did, and then shrugged them off. My own moment was in the "motivation" episode, which showed that you didn't get points for good deeds if your motivation was corrupt. That made me wonder, "Well then, what about Tahani, who did her good works only in order to stick it to her family?" But I figured they would eventually explain that, and soon forgot about it anyway.

2021-08-17 17:53:11 +0000 UTCThat is indeed fun to do (I've now rewatched season 1 for just that purpose many times), but no, I need them to continue to season 2!!
DelGuy03
2021-08-17 17:46:47 +0000 UTCWoo! On to Season 2, which is my favorite out of the whole series! Hope you guys love it too!

2021-08-17 17:38:38 +0000 UTCAnyone else kinda want to see them rewatch season 1 before season 2? Just so they can see how great Ted Danson’s performance is, he played both sides of Michael perfectly, he comes off so nice but when you know the twist you can see the little evil touches he adds which are perfect.
Ryan
2021-08-17 17:33:14 +0000 UTCThis was the best moment of the entire series for me

2021-08-17 17:24:37 +0000 UTCThis is the episode every Reactor-watcher is waiting for, praying you don't get spoiled in advance! :) One of the all-time TV twists ever. Everyone besides Our Four was playing a part in one of Michael's scenarios. That takes care of all questions like "who's Trevor." I so enjoyed seeing you experience this!
