I’m also not sure why we are STILL saying things about the technology in the Naruto world. We have no idea how advance they are. The way I see it is they’re fairly modern, but also traditional. And it takes a lot of energy (and money) to produce those video calls. While a summit is made for the kage also because they’re fighters and don’t need the protection a feudal lord might. Plus their discussion is bigger and could last too long for the batteries. They gave wires and projections. They can make movies and print things and use radios. They don’t traditionally watch TV frequently or use computers often yet. They don’t have cars because they are a culture of physical labor and maintain their strength by avoiding laziness. Their time period is otherwise mysterious. Which I believe the creator said he wanted. So…. Hopefully this is a helpful way of looking at it from here on. :)

Gaara. THIS IS A KID. (Despite being a full on ninja, assassin and murderer) Sasuke only 3 years later. GROWN ASS ADULT. (Despite being manipulated his whole life and currently manipulated by Madara) Also Sasuke actually didn’t really do anything except leave. They summoned the Kate because they thought he joined the Akatsuki and killed Bee. But he didn’t actually do either of those things. He didn’t start doing anything bad til he infiltrated the summit that was already formed partially to decide to kill him or threaten war between each other. He fought the Kage but never actually killed anyway. He attacked Danzo and killed him but Danzo was already a bad guy, so he did them a favor. (He also killed Orochimaru. Another favor. And Itachi who, as far as most of the world knew, was another favor.) Honestly, it’s the world easily turning their backs on him which is what Sasuke wants so he can become bad enough to get his revenge. If they didn’t do that, Naruto wouldn’t have such a hard time.

not that 'following orders' excuses everything anyway but gaara also killed that random drunk guy in his village and was implied to kill other people as well. and he still had the demon inside him when he reformed, meaning he could always control it. yes he was 4 yrs younger than sasuke is now and also he was only evil for one arc so it feels less drastic, but the bottom line is still that criminal justice in anime is not realistic which sometimes makes things stupid but other times keeps things entertaining...imagine if this shit had court trials on top of the 10 minute flashbacks. and on an unrelated note gaara's dub is fucking cool

Naruto has stated various times that he doesn't believe a person who cannot save one friend deserves to be Hokage. So yeah, that would be accurate that Naruto, if he has to die with Sasuke, will not become Hokage.

So first of all there are no war crimes in Naruto. That’s part of the reason why the shinobi world is so full of anger and hatred because there is no agreed upon code of conduct, and shinobi can do whatever fucked up shit they need to in order to get the job done As for Gaara, even though he didn’t care, he and the sand shinobi believed they were following orders from the Kazekage and were doing what they were told was necessary to protect the sand villages future. Afterwards Gaara joined the rank and file Shinobi and worked to earn the trust and forgiveness of his village. That combined with inheritance and his being a jinchuriki allowed him to become Kazekage Sasuke on the other hand chose to abandon his village of his own free will in order to gain the power necessary to kill Itachi. Yes he has been manipulated by Itachi and Madara, but choices like joining the Akatsuki, attacking killer bee, and attacking the 5 Kage summit are choices he made himself. He could have chosen not to go along with Madara’s plans and just go after the leaf with his own team, but he chose to make the world his enemy instead In regards to the Tsuchikage hiring the Akatsuki he wasn’t the only one, just the one who hired them the most. Also every village except for the hidden cloud produced an Akatsuki member so they’re all to blame for not eliminating their rogue shinobi

The batteries they were using are called Daniell cells and were the second battery ever invented. A copper pot is filled with a copper sulphate solution then an unglazed terracotta container is filled with sulphuric acid and a zinc electrode. The second container is then placed inside the copper pot allowing ions to pass through while keeping the two solutions separated The porous pot cell was based on the Daniell cell and while the principal is the same the appearance is quite different

The difference between Gaara and Sasuke is that as the jinchuriki he was important to his village. That along with his father being the previous Kage allowed him to rise to the position he has. Sasuke on the other hand is a threat to everyone. There is literally no value in keeping him alive for the Hidden Leaf Village.

One of the big things in the Naruto manga is how isolated each country is to each other. They don't share information willingly and that includes technology. Each country and ninja village is inherently distrustful of all the others. That's one of the reasons the shinobi world is so messed up

I'm no expert, but I think the batteries for the camera equipment are inspired by ancient Pot Batteries like the ones found in Baghdad and Egypt. They would be filled with an Electrolyte Solution, and have a copper bar dipped into it to conduct the voltage. In the episode, though it looks like they made the pots copper altogether.

Yeah, it’s never directly mentioned in the series, but Konoha is just a village and the Hokage is basically a village chief. The land of fire is an entire country with cities, electricity, etc. pretty much a hybrid of the time periods of Demon Slayer and Golden Kamuy.
