Subaru's character is suppose to be very cringy, awkward, and annoying. Hes also suppose to mess up 50,000 times. Anyone in Subaru's shoes would have soooooo many fuck ups with restarting life, and trying to completely make everything perfect. Thats what Subaru is trying to do, make every single thing perfect, and that makes him go through trust issues and all other horrible shit. Hes basically a imperfect character that will always be imperfect compare to other MCs. So yes, do he make the worst mistakes and couldve done way better job whether if its verbalizing better or doing something smarter....yes he could do so much better.

As for Garfel. The reason why he was sus with Subaru, wasn't just because he was sprouting too much sh*t or solely because of the witch's miasm. It was because when Subaru brought up the request to take the trial solely for Emilia's sake. Garf noted that Subaru didn't seem to show any concern at that moment for Emilia when he brought the request up. As in previous discussions. Subaru would seem to have a motionless expression when explaining things. Which made Garf think that Subaru had some other ulterior motive which lead him to distrust Subaru and only grew each time Subaru died as the miasma got stronger by each death. Also: There's a problem with Patreon that seems to erase my comment each time I refresh the app or load the app. It's annoying having to comment again after typing this much information. 😒

Up to now. Subaru only saw Otto as a innocent bystander who he didn't want to get into the sanctuary affairs. Not as a friend. Only seeing Otto as a merchant he saved once and wanted to grant his audience to Roswaal then go back to living his life. Prior to saving Subaru from his imprisonment. Subaru's isolation would be one of the worst experiences for him. The loneliness that came from him being confined in this darkness and isolation. Made him yearn for death like last time and made him think of all kinds of ways to end his life. All because of the excruciating pain from being helpless and alone. All though he did have his caretaker, they would never say a word to him. Which made his isolation even worse because it made it if his existence as a person wasn't acknowledged. By the time Otto came to rescue him. Subaru felt like it was centuries since he last heard a voice that he became so accustomed to listening to his own breath and heartbeat. That he couldn't recognize the sound of a voice. Which lead to the the scene that some of you felt awkward and weirded out by. But was actually a heartfelt moment if you understood the subtle body language from Subaru (Hence the laughing)

the reason why subaru got locked up wasn't because of anything he did, it was because every time he returns by death the scent of the witch gets stronger and thus elicits a different response from garfiel, who has one way or the other the ability to sense this scent. So no it's not because he said too much stuff. P.S. Elsa was able to get into the library because she opened all the possible doors in the mansion, there was no door left for beatrice to reconnect the library to. P.P.S. Subaru also has issues now with depending on people after what happened with Rem, that's why Otto had such a reaction on him alongside the obvious being on the brink of yet another death thing. You'll see more about those issues later
