I don’t think we will get this cleared up anytime soon. When Endgame came out the writers and directors gave conflicting answers for what Steve did. The writers believe Steve always went back in time and was Peggy’s husband and father of her children in the main MCU timeline. The directors believe when Steve went back in time he created a new timeline where he came back home and married Peggy, but the original timeline/main MCU timeline Peggy married someone else and had children with that person. Both answers have their issues. If Steve created a new timeline then Old Steve shouldn’t have been at the park bench. At the same time if Steve had always married Peggy than things like Sharon not knowing Steve looked her uncle when he was younger or Shield and Hydra never realizing Peggy’s husband was Captain America do not add up at all.

2021-04-17 15:19:33 +0000 UTCThats also what im wondering about. the old Cap Scene at the end of Endgame imo implies that cap has not interfered with anything so the new reality he created by entering it, is actually not a new one, but the very same in which all the events happend shown to us in the Marvel movies. would also mean that he is Sharons grandfather btw. Or can anyone explain how old cap could be sitting at that bench in that reality at that very point in time? Given that, i wonder how he got that shield, because as i said, he didnt change anything about the course of events and the shield got destroyed in that timeline. Maybe it is another shield indeed. I hope they explain it eventually. An explanation like he traveled back in time to get an intact shield inbetween the events i would not be very happy with. Very random - and also that would mean the shield is stolen from another reality. Would about that alternate Cap? Do we not give a fuck about whats happening there? Already messed up one by accidentially helping Loki to escape...
