Very true. It's easy to see why people think is arc is so great. It takes the entire series thus far and uses that as a jumping-off point to lurch the series in an entirely new direction in the most dramatic way possible. You'd be hard-pressed to find a tighter set of 20+ episodes in any other (long-running) anime. What goes on after this is the fallout from the revelations that occur in this arc but played out on a much larger scale. As such things aren't as tight, edges may get frayed, and answers given might not be satisfying for everyone. But taking the general set-up of this arc and applying it to include the people and nations besides just the Leaf and the Rain is such a massive undertaking that I don't mind if things get a little messy. Things may not get as dire, and dark as this arc again but there are a whole bunch of other feelings to envoke that I think the rest of the series revels in.

TO CHRIS: It does get better. If you mean in terms of extreme things happening.... yes, it keeps getting bigger and more godlier. TO MICKY: It's subjective, but it's the best arc because of how deep Pain is, like how you heard him talk last episode. It's also not a really long arc and they can get pretty unbelievable lengthy later. Whether or not the story is better or not as good varies because there's pros and cons. For me, it gets better because I have almost every (valid) question I could possibly think of answered.

Can’t wait for 167. As a sakuga enthusiast it’s just a god tier animated episode, Shingo Yamashita is the GOAT. Norio Matsumoto also returns who they’ve always enjoyed since Lee v. Gaara. Such a stacked staff list, directed and storyboarded by Atsushi Wakabayashi and an all star assembly of key animators, Shingo Yamashita, Hiroyuki Yamashita, Norio Matsumoto Tomoyuki Niho, and Kinichi Kutsuna. I know it’s a controversial episode where the animation is concerned, especially for casuals. You may not like the style but it’s extremely well animated. How do fellow Patreon subs feel about it guys?

The intro spoiled just that pain was going to invade Konoha and that Naruto was going to fight him (it also kind of spoiled the new outfit of Naruto). Tbh I don't know if you consider that major spoiler as you can also take it as a way to get hyped for the arc. The other things are battles that never happened during the invasion, so there is no need to cover your eyes when watching as it does not count as spoiler, but even if those battles happened I don't think that would be a major spoiler as the opening does not show important revelation. (See for example the Opening of AoT Season 3 - part 2 that you saw before knowing the plot but it did not ruin the experience, however, if you see it now, you will think that it spoils everything). Also, the opening did not spoil Shizune death, that person shown in the opening is not Shizune (look at the clothes) but a random ninja, you now associate with her because you know the plot. It is very difficult to explain but watching an opening before and after knowing the plot leads to different reactions. If you watch it after knowing the plot you will think that the opening spoils everything because you understand all the references.

I totally agree with you. Tsunade is the only reason why The People of the Hidden Leaf village are still alive. She transferred all her chakra through Katsuyu to save them all (except Kakashi because he was already dead). She is the MOST UNDERRATED Hokage. When you take a few second to reflect on the amont of chakra and chakra control that it takes to save sevral thousands of People, all at once, in different locations, with different types of wounds, that is how you understand how powerful she is. Katsuyu serve as a conduit for Tsunade to give the chakra she gathered and stored in the seal on her forehead. Without her the Hidden Leaf village would have been wiped out after Pain's Almighty Push jutsu.

It shouldn’t be forgotten that Jiraiya actually killed 4 pains, even if it was the same one twice. That was also without any prior intel or even the slightest bit of knowledge of any of his abilities. On top of that he would’ve also had in his mind that Pain is actually a former student of his so emotionally he would’ve been confused too as to how and why his former students ended up becoming Akatsuki members. To have juggled all that and still managed to do as much damage that he did is quite impressive.

11:00 The Six Paths of Nirvana is in Buddhism but there's a very similar thing in Hinduism as well. I meant to tell y'all about that but Imma wait 1 more week. Just like how Chakra is a word used a lot in Hindu religious texts. I love the show takes things from religions. it makes you know more about them. There are so many things that Naruto has that relates to Hinduism. It makes me feel good and bad at the same time coz even though I love it's getting an exposure but people don't get it and sometimes mistake everything for Buddhism. It's not their fault as the religions have many things in common but it makes me a bit sad, But love to every religion and their people <3

The power of the Rinnegan really lives up to the legends. Safe to say it is the strongest of the three main Dojutsu (Sharingan and Byakugan). Naruto realising Kakashi's dead is one the best moments in the show. Him saying "I see" goes to show how far he's come as a Shinobi. Also it's safe to assume the author Kishimoto drew Pain (Yahiko) in the likeness of Naruto to better emphasise their connection with one another. Similar features, same master, same prophecy etc. Tsunade got guts trying to go up to Pain like that, props to her. And sad to say not everyone survived that Almighty Push. Side note: Tendo in Japanese means 'Way of Heaven' indicating that Tendo Pain (Yahiko) is the strongest one of them all, the 'Way of Heaven' per se. You've also heard him being called the 'Deva Path' which is both the name of his ability to manipulate Attractive and Repulsive forces with objects and people, and a play on 'The Six Paths of Pain' (which is in correspondence with the six Buddhist Paths of Reincarnation).

I mean the foreshadowing for it is pretty blatant. They’re not going to spend 20ish episodes building up this new powerful move with Shuriken in the name, only to have the move be a frontal attack that’s only ever used once. Plus there’s several visual clues hinting at it during his sage training

Also i think you missed the importance of NARUTO throwing his WIND STYLE RASEN SHURIKEN. He could not throw that thing before, but now in sage mode he can THROW it , meaning there is no damage to his arm. Vs KAKUZU he used that attack still like a punch or like kakashi uses chidori, he has to use his hand in the attack. But now Naruto can just throw it. Making it a really effective long range jutsu.
