It’s very interesting watching the Normies react to Aidan Gillen post Little Finger. They fully expect him to be functioning in a ‘Little Finger’ type of way. Usually I’d say don’t let another role an actors portrayed influence your perception of another character they’re playing. But in this instance I’d say it works in reverse, their eyes will be more open to his machinations. This’ll be an interesting reaction going forward.

Cole was played by Executive Producer Robert F. Colesburry (hence the name), who passed away for real in between Seasons 2 and 3, shortly after directing the S2 finale, which was his directing debut. Because he was a successful producer who had worked on a lot of classic and Oscar-winning movies, he was instrumental in convincing HBO to greenlight The Corner and The Wire, and to trust Simon and Burns at the helm even though they didn't have a background in film or television.
