Did anyone explain to them that the episodes were going to orginally come out in order, but when George Lucas saw them working on the series he wanted to put a few episodes together and make it a movie and messed up the release order?

It's the type of show that you can watch any episode ad be able to kinda follow. You don't necessarily need to watch in chronological order to enjoy this show, but for reaction purposes, it's usually preferred.
